Got my Japanese RHD X1 20i M sport yesterday. Here are some of the quirks with a JP version.

RHD - seat controls are on the seat
No adaptive cup holders
No iconic sounds option available.

The English menu is in British English and she sucks at Japanese pronunciation.

Anyone else have differences in their region?

With respect to the seats and cup holders, that's the same with my UK spec. X1

My car is not an M, so I wouldn't have iconic sounds option anyway. However, I test-drove an M sport, and it didn't seem to have iconic sounds either, as I remember looking for them in the menu

Mine also sucks at some English pronunciations; some are laughably incorrect! (but there again, English has its fair share of quirks).

Living in Hawaii, there is no chance any voice assistant ever gets the pronunciation right lol. Try using Hey BMW, Siri, Alexa or Google to find Kalanianaole Highway. Curious why some markets get iconic sound and others don’t. I’ve left mine on, it’s not intrusive at all, but now I’m going to toggle it off to see the difference. Driving with the windows down, the diverter valve on the 28i is surprisingly loud!

I used to live in Honolulu from 2014-2017 and always laughed at the Navi’s trying to pronounce any Hawaiian name.

Hahaha that’s the classic one that you can immediately tell if someone has lived here or not! The navi in the HUD works pretty well with Apple CarPlay or the OEM though, and I have the voice announcements turned off.

also forgot you cannot get the shadowline grill as an option in Japan
