I've got a dealer who is doing warranty spark plug work on an x1 M Sport w/ 19" wheels/tires that arrived today. Asked them if they could possibly get some specs on the braking package and wheels while they have it in the shop. Will post anything I hear back.

Hard to get a straight answer from anyone right now, and retailers like Tire Rack haven't gotten their hands on the new model yet and don't have all the specs.
I agree, and if I'm being honest it's been a pretty big pain in the ass. I know this is only because it's so new but I've spent hours on this already.

Since I'm located in Canada I've been using this (https://www.1010tires.com/) website to shop for rims. Based on what the website says will fit on the 2023 X1, I think we will be going with these + winter tires:

https://www.1010tires.com/Wheels/Enk...498-980-4445BK

The specs are the following:
Wheel Size 19 x 8
Bolt Pattern 5/112
Wheel Offset 45 mm.
Hub Bore 72.60

What's been frustrating is that I essentially need to guess if these will work correctly. If they don't that's a huge return shipping cost. :-(

Also, another problem (that is specific to me in this case) is that since the website's return policy is only 30 days I'll have to work with the dealership and need to guestimate on when they will get the vehicle and when it will be ready while still ordering the wheels ahead of time so they can install them without causing a long delay.

Good times. :-)

the original 19-inch wheels on the 2023 X1 (U11) appears to be
8Jx19 ET46... which means that offset of 45mm may be off just a little bit.

I would go by the specs on the original BMW 19-inch wheel and the same 245/50/19 tire size for snow tires.

I figure a 1mm difference in offset is trivial and likely won't be a problem but I'm no expert. Having to find non-BMW rims with an exact off-set of 46 is likely going to be impossible.

Thanks for the link. There's some nice stuff on that site.

If you're sticking with the same size as the OEM wheels, a +5 offset shouldn't be an issue at all since factory wheels are a bit sunken in from the edge of the fender. -5 wouldn't be recommended without measuring first in case it's too close to the suspension components.

The dealer successfully got my previous 2020 x1 winter tire on the ‘23 model today to check comparability. Will report back again in a week or two when I officially change out the full set at the local tire shop.

Bolt pattern is the same as the '18 X1 my wife traded in. She's using the 225 18" rims/tires that were on the older X1. Believe she uses Bridgestone Blizzaks....she drives the 401 often to Ottawa from Toronto during winter months and even ventures up to our cottage in Quebec where we get ridiculous amounts of snow. She's never had an issue with those tires.

In any case, bolt pattern is the same.

How many inches/feet(or centimeters/meters) of snow
does it take to qualify as "ridiculous amounts of snow"
for folks in Canada?

Just wondering...

At the cottage?....a little over 5 feet for the season. It's quite a bit north and about 900 feet elevated. In Toronto, nothing really. Anywhere between no snow all season to maybe 3 feet all season.

I have BMW 18” M double spoke 570 wheels with 225/50R18 Bridgestone Blizzak LM001 for my 2016 BMW X1 for winter. Can I use them on a new 2023? As far as I can tell they have the same center bore size 66.6mm and the bolt pattern is 5x112. Salesman suggested I couldn’t.

I think you should be able to. The only question is the offset, but from what I hear it's similar spec between the two generations. You could test fit them pretty quickly I'd imagine.
