Mine was missing as well but is now working after a recent software update.

I am currently on 11/2023.30

How did you manage to get the 11/2023.58 version? Are these updates not rolled over for all vehicles?

If possible can you share the image of your speaker grill illuminated and forward it to the dealer.

The dealer updated the SW version to correct the numerous faults I had as explained in that other thread. Not all updates are automatically rolled out to the vehicle.

On ID9, there is a setting under Apps
menu / "Vehicle" / "Interior lighting" / "Ambient
lighting" /

Also the manual indicates
"Some speakers in the vehicle are illuminated. When the speakers are muted, the speaker lighting is turned off. When the ambient lighting effects are enabled, the speakers illuminate white."

You can check the previous discussions on this. You don’t a software update with your version. You just need to turn the settings on correctly from within the menu. All the info you need is there

My settings were already correct to show colored HK logo vs white.

When I got the vehicle back after the software update, the speaker illumination worked as advertised.

It may not have been "needed" a SW update but when it was updated it resolved whatever problem was causing the non-illumination.

lots of stuff on the current Bimmers need a good reset once in a while. it's almost as if we're driving Window 95 computers on wheels.


I played with all the colors for the HK speaker logo... ended up putting it back to the basic white.

I had mine white, but i prefer mine to match with the rest of the cars ambient lighting, my favs green EMERALLLLD or purple

Like others my HK speakers were lighting up as “white” (not the ambient light colors) since picking up my 24 x1 28i with premium package in late 2023.
Today I happened to be in the interior lighting setting & realized that the default was for it to match the ambient light color. Mine was set so it would be WHITE. To change it I needed to unclick the button on the right so it was NOT Green, putting it in the “off” setting. As soon as I did, the HK premium speakers lit up matching the other ambient light settings. Blue or Orange in my case.
