Such map updates are not available in the US. I dont' find it funny that BMWUSA thinks we Americans are too stupid to be trusted to download our own map updates.

So how do you get the latest maps? is it a trip to the dealer?

I have no idea... but I got some kind of map update on the screen recently.

back when Lexus still used DVD-based navigation and charged US$299 for each update DVD, [Edit: I heard that "someone" would] just go to the dealer to "test drive" a new model. That someone would sit in the parking lot with a laptop and make a clone ISO of the new DVD, for educational purposes, of course.

The regional update comes OTA i.e UK/IE but the EU one is the one we have to download Via the Download Manager.
I wonder if your OTA updates are just for your State.

No chance of doing anything like you used to be able to do, the BMW updates are specific to the vehicle.

That must have been the guy I bought my updated maps from on the ClubLexus forums.....

Yes I got the region one OTA a couple of weeks ago.

The car updated to 2024-2 today, I've stopped using the download to USB and let the car download them when they become available.

I get the UK and Ireland update OTA but the full EU map is via the download manager. I’m on ID8.

I don't see any option to download maps for idrive 9.

I can see in the connected drive app in the car that the maps are regularly updated...

I don’t know about idrive 9 but as said in other post the regional come OTA the full EU are around 34gb.
