I find the annoying thing is if you drive off without your profile loading it stays stuck on the default and the seat settings as well as other preferences are stuck for drive, unless you go back into park and load your profile

I have same profile issue.....also data privacy seems to toggle between on and off (the app won't show you trip data/mpg anymore). Also, Remote Control Start climate control will toggle off randomly.

You don’t have to be in park, just at a complete stop. You can drive off while it’s still loading the profile as well.

Yes MMandov mine behaves the same sometimes it is fast and other times it is slow with parking cameras working independently. Strange that it takes different times to load up as you would expect it to load the same stuff each time!!

I have a 24' x1 m35i and it is a glorious vehicle but ID9 / carplay is a bad stain at the moment.

When carplay is connected to id9 it crashes every 15 minutes or so, usually locking up before dropping calls. Then it will reconnect a few minutes later changing the audio source from satellite to Spotify. I have had some embarrassing situations with dropped calls, then scrambling for my phone to get it on speaker and muted while ID9 restarts, drops navigation, etc. I consider this a safety issue as well.

My first trip the dealer resulted in nothing. I am setting up a cheap video camera and will start making recordings of this nonsense to come back with evidence. Also working on some repeatable test cases for inducing a crash.l

What kind of camera set up are you using? This is my exact situation right now.

I haven't gotten there yet but was thinking of a suction cup mount on the inside of the passenger front window then you can capture the screen and controls.

I have a scenario which can cause repeated ID9 crashes at certain times.

3. Use the arrow buttons on the console to change the satellite channel

Often in this scenario ID9 will lock up for 30 seconds not change the channel, then reset/reboot dropping the phone connection, carplay then reconnects 30 seconds later. Satellite radio context/info is gone and requires putting it back on original station.

3 weeks in. ID9 sucks. Dropping calls every day. Music stops playing. Dealer is oblivious to any issues, yet I see multiple posts about this issue. Has anyone had success getting this issue taken care of?

I can confirm it does not cure the issue.

Requires a software update that isn’t yet available. They’re working on it.

I am also 3 weeks in and have had no problems with ID9. Was expecting the worse but so far, no problems. Perhaps I am tempting fate?

On my eDrive20 which came with ID9 i have no problem of Carplay, crash, drive recorder or AR...but it's the factory OS on the eDrive20.

It would be very helpful if you guys posting about iDrive 9 problems or no problems would tell us which version of iDrive 9 you have.

Early Jan pickup, running id9 11/2023.25. I have drive recorder but haven't checked for AR. I believe it's there. I have the tv & games. It takes a really long time to boot up. Doesn't always know what profile to use & I have to wait at least a few minutes for it to load the page to choose a profile. Calls drop every time I'm on one, and music stops but I only for a second every so often.

Hey, I am iD9, 2023 X123d MSport version 07/2023.72 and my display loads a bit slower than previous version but is usually ready for when I drive off, I don’t appear to be having any other notable issues, my Car Play seems to be quite stable with 2x different iPhones.

I am using CarPlay for music and calls. I also only have one profile setup and the other is guest. For some reason whenever it boots up, it doesn't automatically boot up my profile and it makes me choose between my profile and the guest profile

I had this issue as well. There is a way to link your key fob and PAAK to your profile. I can’t remember where I found it for certain and we no longer have the M35i so I can’t repeat it, but this fixed the issue except for the rare occasion. I want to say it was under profiles and then settings.

I wanted to report back a quick update, my phone had another update install overnight while I was sleeping about a week ago, andsince then that I haven't really noticed any dropping or skipping of music, yet. I have yet to make a long enough phone call to test whether or not it would, I'm rarely driving the car right now since I'm on paternity leave.
