I noticed that you have shelves hanging from the ceiling of the garage. how low are they when you drive your X1 inside? My house is filled with junk(priceless junk) and I'm currently paying $250 per month for a rental storage unit to store them. I want to put up as many shelves as possible in my garage to store them and avoid paying $250/month. Thanks! |

https://www.costco.com/saferacks-ove...100133736.html As mounted, the bottom of the racks are 28" from the ceiling. My X1's roof is 48" from the ceiling. The bicycles hanging from the ceiling are much more of a clearance concern, as they're only 6" from the roof of my car. Hopefully this helps! |

Glad that you are okay. The X1 sacrificed itself to protect you. I don't know how much it will cost to repair that in Europe.(if repairable at all) However, that happened to a friend's new Toyota Corolla last year. The tree damage was less severe(no broken glass, only roof and trunk caved in) and the insurance company paid US$14,000+ for the repair. Took the bodyshop almost two months to complete the job, partly due to pandemic shortage of roof panel. |

Yikes not good at all you and everyone are safe that's the important thing it's just a lump of metal and plastic that can be replaced.
Anyway I'm sure it can buff out with a good detailer...... doh |

Flip! Glad you are safe gqbriel
Shame to see your smashed X1. At least it wasn‘t your (anyones) fault - still super annoying! It does look like a write off with bend A pillars, front, interior… I‘m pretty sure your next ride will be something special again and we look fwd to see it here! |

18d, Portimao blue. Must be the only one in the world that opted for aluminum window seals and roofrails with M package. But I like it this way.

That looks so much nicer. In the US, BMW does NOT allow us to have the aluminum window trim or roof racks, so mine are black. I do wish that they are aluminum or satin silver like your... because I have a silver X1. |

How did this X1 end up with non-black window trim and roof racks?
