This is to give you all some ideas when it comes to wheels for the U11 X1.

I haven't seen really anyone post anything for size and fitment options so I took a gamble for my wife's 2023 X1.

This fitment sits almost flush, tons of caliper and strut clearance.

Wheel Specs:

20x8.5 ET35 - Square Setup
245/40/20 - Kumho Ecsta PS71

That makes the offset on your wider 8.5J-20-ET35 at 35mm too small by a significant margin as the offset should go up the wider the wheels. This is to position them outwards away from the centre of the car and avoid the inside edge touching anything but also ensure the outside edge of the wheel does not protude beyond the wheel arch (a legal requirement in the EU at least). There is by definition a max width of the wheels which may be safely accommodated completely within the wheel arch. The maximum from the wheels BMW produce appears to be 8 inch (8J) with an offset of 50mm. Your wheels are 0.5inch wider than any wheels BMW currently produce as approved for this car. The overall diameter of your wheels is 704mm so anything which depends on that e.g. recorded speed, fuel consumption, distance, range will also be out by approx 3%.

Every country/region has different regulations. And 20” wheels were an option on the U11 until supply constraints forced them to remove them from the order list (for now). I’m going with 19x8.5 ET32 and they will sit flush with the top edge of the front fenders, will most likely run spacers in the rear to get a similar look. Tires are going to be 245/45/19.

@mvalentini nice wheels. There are a few threads on wheels and specs etc already. The ones you have installed are very similar to a few of the existing BMW Y-Spoke OEM designs.

Thanks, yes I've seen a few posts but usually only OEM wheels. I haven't seen a new X1 on a forged set yet, so just trying to show the aftermarket options out there.

Generally most Y spoke wheels have a similar look but won't have the weight savings/strength of a fully forged set up.

Thanks for providing this.. I have done this to enhance the appearance and styling of the vehicle. Modifying the wheels to what i've done won't hurt the vehicle.

How’s the ride been on this set up? I’m assuming you have and kept the m adaptive suspension? Curious because there’s a mixed bag on how ride quality is.

I don't drive the X1 much but i've noticed it's a firm ride. Going from 19" to 20" I don't notice much of a difference with adaptive suspension.
