If the pricing is right, this is going to be very strong in the segment. Great vehicle.

Why a DCT, and not the usual ZF 8 speed?

Thank goodness they didn't screw up the styling with the 2-tier headlights from the LCI X7! But please bring back the gear shifter BMW!

The FWD BMW's have never had ZF auto's, they have Aisin gearbox's.

The X1 m35i will start production in mid-2023 (see https://g20.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=901686), so no need to mention it now. It will be revealed in a year or so.

Well that's a bummer. I was excepting to be revealed alongside the regular models… oh welp.

Not sure about the removal of the iDrive rotary wheel though. I wonder if this will start coming to all the models in an effort to force use of either the touch screen or gesture controls?
I tend to agree. IDrive controller is an alternative which can be often safer to use. Muscle memory allows the driver to focus on driving.

It has a spare wheel now it looks like BMW have given RFT's the bullet for their small SUV range a welcome relief for some

I'm a fan, probably a perfect size for the UK and the small parking spaces.

it seems like the X1 is a few thousand $ more than a Honda CRV. This is in comparison of the current CRV gen, which will be replaced by all new CRV sometime this year 2022, and i would assume there will be a price increase which would make it closer to the X1.

Would you rather buy the CRV or X1? I understand CRV is a bigger vehicle, but it's in the same price tier.

That abomination looks like it should be a forklift dash. Fire the entire design team and start over. Oh, and have an option to customize the gauges, with one being to have 2 large round dials as one of the options - rather than that angular hard-to-read-at-a-glance nonsense.
Hate all you want, it will sell like hotcakes..

Eliminating the the gear shift saves them money per car.
