Probably because OEM wheels use wheel bolts, not lug nuts. I just gave the first thing that popped up on google. But there are other companies out there.

Here's another site, you can email them and ask which ones fit the X1:

I have an IX1 in order and have bought 20" glossy black wheels with low offset. So they will stick out some more than oem wheels.

The specs is:

Front: 8,5" ET40
Rear: 9" ET35

I have not decided if I will go for a wider rear tyre. So I bought two different dimensions for the rear, 245/40-20 and 275/35-20. I have to test on the car which will fit the best. Since this is a EV I have to think about the extra consumption the wide rears will give as well. My IX1 waiting for shipment at the port here in Norway, so hoping for delivery soon

Attachment 3084563

UPDATE:
Finally my IX1 arrived and I couldn't wait, so I test fitted my summer wheels at the workshop. It's still snow here in Norway, so I have to wait two month for driving on them.
Wheels are still within the fenders
They look great!

Some questions for you: Have you managed to drive with these? How are you liking them? Any hit on the range?

And finally, are these the Z-Performance ZP2.1?

Thanks!

Does anyone live close to TIRE RACK headquarters in South Bend, Indiana? So they can take the x1 to their headquarters for fitting purposes as their email response to me say they likely will have not have rims available on the site until after the winter season...

Unfortunately we wont have any info on wheels we carry that fit until the car is sent here for the engineers to measure. Going into the winter season, that may not happen until the beginning of next year unless a local customer with the vehicle brings theirs in to pull that information from the car.

Question: re: rims for a 2023 bmw x1 28i (none available at present for sale)

Hello, when will Tire rack have a supply of rims in the 19 inch sizes? I am looking for an all black colored wheel rim 19x8 or 19 x 8.5.

Please let me know if anyone knows as to when it will be posted on the website..

thank you so much !

Fitment should be similar to the F48 X1 from what I've read. I currently am running 19x8.5 BBS RGR's ET32 and they are flush with the top of the fender with plenty of clearance with the suspension. In keeping with the preprogrammed accepted sizes in the TPMS system, a 245/45/19 tire is the ideal size. I personally don't buy from Tire Rack unless I have to, their shipping to Hawaii is pretty steep. Amazon Prime ships tires though! Got my Hankook Ventus V12 evo2's from them last month.

A quick question I have, and I think there's some debate over this in another thread, but did any of you who did swap out for aftermarket wheels, upgrade your lug bolts as well?

I swapped to a stud conversion and lug nuts. OEM thread pitch is 14x1.25, I got a conversion stud set that changes the wheel mounting side to 12x1.5 since there are much more readily available lug nuts in that size. They’re also longer than stock length so I had the option to run spacers if needed, and I got some Project Kics open end lug nuts with a floating seat to help with ease of centering and reduce wear on the paint of the lug seat.

In the case of a wheel swap, the most significant variable to trigger the need to renew lug nuts is the type of seating used in the wheel that is replacing the original. Ie if your Oem set up uses conical seats (as in the case of the X1) and your replacement wheels use ball seats, then change the lugs. If you plan on using spacers to make up for an offset issue, then change the lug length commensurate with the spacer width.

in that case, will the new aftermarket wheels need to be torqued to the same specs as the original BMW wheels of the same size?

I recall running some forged HREs on one car and called them on torque settings (as they were forged)….the tech said go ahead and use manufacturer specs as I was using exactly the same lugs. I’ve applied that answer in every case including when I change the lugs and not had any issues.

Yup, I was told the same thing. They said if the mounting hardware says different, then that may be another story, but generally factory specs are fine.

Do you have a photo of your X1 running 19 X 8.5 ET32 wheels, Thanks.

Here you go. I posted them in one of the threads but it’s probably buried somewhere.

You shouldn't have any issues as long as you stay with the proper sized tire diameter.

No, they are not, they vary from model to model. For the U11 X1 I believe they are all the same, however if you want the wheel to be more flush or more inset into the wheel arch you'll have to do your own calculations on what will fit. There are many helpful articles online if you google "calculating wheel offset"

What are the other specs of the wheels? Diameter and width are important. An offset of 27 will technically fit, but will protrude from the wheel arches slightly. But if the wheel diameter is too wide you may have clearance issues with the suspension, that’s why the full specs of the wheels are important.

They’ll mount on the X1, but they will protrude from the fenders a bit I think.
