X1 35 M Mirrors Cap

I tried searching on bmwparts.net but couldn't find the part # for it.

Lots of China versions on AilExpress but that's not what I want.

If anyone knows where I can find it, greatly appreciate the help

not sure if this is what you're asking, but im fairly certain it requires the entire assembly - the part that houses the mirror, also the base part that attaches to the actual car/door.

I can't see this being cheap as they're motorized and have the signal led in the housing.

I can tell you at 1000% it doesnt need anything...do u seriously think BMW will change assembley for the whole mirror for the least sold model from the range?
Its just the plastic cap as in general its a spare part.

On the question - i feel like they dont have it listed in here i would go with non oem one as its all abs plastic

i guess the rear trunk "spoiler" follow the same logic - only via the car and from BMW

Try the parts department at your local dealership. I know I can go to my parts department and they can pull up those same diagrams and order the parts for me. Or email Tischer BMW aka getbmwparts.com . They’re a dealership that has a large online parts store for anything OEM in the US.

You will need parts labelled 2 and 3. I have already asked my bmw dealer last month for them and he keeps telling me it is “not compatible”. I believe BMW is specifically trying to avoid selling these parts to cars that are not M cars. I even asked the online bmw parts reseller and they can only sell to VINs belonging to M cars, or in this case, the X1 M35i.

It’s been a nightmare trying to find these parts online.

I can try and get one VIN if thats the issue I will ask mine as well and will order them - what i like is the rear spoiler as well.

I’m not sure if the VIN alone would suffice as they would have the customer information for that VIN, but worth a shot!

seriously is just a matter of time before China's manufacturer gets a hold of the real one and copies it out. It's just ABS plastic like you guys said and will be on Aliexpress in no time.

Why are they making it so difficult

Showing no stock in Canada or Germany and no price in ETK. So basically factory back order.

I considered those last month and asked the parts dept guy to look them up. He quoted me $150 for the pair. However, he told me that they came unpainted, so I would have to get their own bodyshop to paint them black for about $200.

That is correct. They do show as “primed” in ETK.

I would personally avoid the stick-on mirror caps and go for replacement caps instead. Looks much better and is more secure.

Agreed...

I guess BMW ditched their mirrorless system idea from 8 years ago. too bad, because I thought it was awesome.

I would say the camera-based systems might be introduced with neue Klasse..atm many are complaining about a touch-based UX. imagine the complaints if bmw took out the mirrors 🤣

One thing at a time for bmw owners I guess

Yes and based on their software issues/updates imagine what could happen to these new ‘mirrors’ … Murphy’s law

Anyone has any luck in finding replacement (not the stick-on type) mirror caps thus far?

Still no luck. All the original parts suppliers that I typically order from do not list them as available parts. You can order all the parts marked in the photo below except for parts 2 and 3, which are the parts we need…

Actually, wouldn't the mirror cap replacement be just item 2? that's how I got mine changed on the F40.
