Has anyone had the front tires wear out in less than 12,000 miles? I have the OEM Bridgestone Turanza tires, and at 11,100 miles they both have reached the wear mark. Vehicle has been driven normally and used to commute to worked only.

That sucks. My 24 x1 28i came with same tires. I’m hoping for a better outcome on mine. I have about 800 miles.

Years back my wife’s Mazda 3 had a set of Cooper tires. THE WORST I’VE EVER HAD. Needed to replace them at about 15k.

Yikes! I have those as well.

How are the rear tires? I'm not sure BMW recommends tire rotation but I wonder would rotating the tires at the 6,000 mile mark front to back help a little?

I wonder if there is any warranty claim possible through Bridgestone?

My X1 (picked up March 2023) came fitted with aweful Nexen N Fera Sport 'ditch finders' - I'm approaching 17k miles and my front tyres are down to the wear mark - not sure if that is good mileage or not..

I will be replacing these with my favourite Michelin Primacy 3 or 4 tyres, and when the Nexen rears wear down will move the part-worn front Michelins to the rear and then fit another set of Michelin on the front.

Be very carefully if you are thinking of replacing less than all 4 tires at the same time. Mixing tires with much different wear patterns can wear out & damage most AWD systems.
Typically if it’s rear or front drive only putting a new set of tires on just one axle is ok. (Usually news are put on fronts)

Thank you for your advice, but my X1 is FWD only, so not a problem!

Putting both steering and drive train thru the front tires is why they are wearing so fast. Couple that with 250 hp and torque and it's easy to see it happening.

As for AWD, the system is FWD virtually all the time. That's how it gets such good fuel economy. It only sends power to the rear when slip is detected. Which for most people is almost never

Assuming the tire pressures have been maintained and the vehicle hasn't been driven aggressively, is there any explanation from BMW for the unusually fast tire wear? My 2014 X1 (AWD) didn't need tires until 35K miles. MINI (FWD) was 32K miles.

'23 X1 28i, tread down to 6 (uniform) after just under 11k miles. I have Pirelli. This is really sad. I felt a bit disappointed when my Accord needed new tires after 40k, X1 tread wear makes me miserable. I consider myself to be a decent driver who doesn't really slam on the paddle. I think I'll need a new set around 17k miles as well.

I have Pirelli P-Zeros on iX1 (dual motor version, pretty heavy car) from the factory.

About 5500miles equivalent. Treadwear >80% according to tire shop. live in mountainous area with a lot of turns 50/50 city/highway.
