Interesting, you have a RHD car and the armrest support is on the left side. First I've seen where they actually flipped it, I think the UK guys still have it on the right.

It’s on the left on the ones I’ve seen, the issue is it still opens the other way so you have to things in it over the lid which is a bit silly.

Should be deeper and bigger than it is, think the storage around that area isn’t good to be honest, style over substance leaving things in view.

Silly me, THAT's what I was thinking of. The armrest itself is quite comfortable, but I agree the storage is pretty useless except for looking pretty. I do wish it was an inch or two higher as that would be more comfortable for me to lean on. I currently store 2 pens, some change, and a parking card in there and it's pretty full lol.

Should be big enough to take a few pairs of sun glasses and a few bits as a minimum really shouldn’t it. The arm rest on the current X1 armrest isn’t massive but does have enough to meet that criteria at least.

Should cut the bottom out of it and fit a back for things to fall into, job done.

I'd gladly keep the current armrest if they fix the throttle delay. I might actually replace the grab handle on the drivers side with the sunglass holder. I think I came across one that fits, and I don't really use the grab handle anyway.

Was at a hotel today for my nieces birthday celebration, and came across this X3 and X5 next to each other, so of course I had to park next to it. The size difference between the current X3 and my X1 is a lot smaller than I thought, even though I knew it was close.

We also don't get the iX1 here in the US. Not really sure why BMW was thinking when they decided not to sell it in the US.

The Orange Utah color looks so awesome. I wanted the M Sport package, so I was not able to order the orange. Please don't tell me if orange is offered for X1/iX1 with M Sport package in Deutschland!

Just grab the digital key and go for it, I mean who would know. Have they given you any other details on why it's delayed? Did you try the VIN Recall checker to see if that says anything?!?

Haha, imagine their faces if I just took it - I do actually own it though so not sure how that would go down hehe. I did put the VIN in the checker and it came up with nothing unfortunately They have not been able to give me any additional info so far.

is your name on the registration and title?(or whatever it's called in the UK) If so, isn't BMW responsible for providing you with a loaner BMW while they fix or replace whatever is causing the delay?

I still have my 530d that they have settled the finance on so I am still mobile but I am financially responsible for the X1 currently though no registration document exists as their system won’t process it whilst it is on a delivery stop. For what it’s worth though I’m glad I popped in to see it today in the flesh.

seems to me that BMW is responsible for reimbursing you for the number of days that you're paying for the X1? Or demand some other kind of compensation... such as free all weather mats, key covers, or something like that?

If you're in the US, you're welcome to come and drive my X1. I feel so bad because it's been sitting in the garage for the last several days. Since I took delivery 3 weeks ago, I only drove about 200 miles.

Haha, you are a bit too far for me to take it for a spin. I will wait and see how long this fiasco takes to be resolved before I talk compensation with them…….I will need some new roof bars though

my X1 made an overnight stop in Southampton, UK last month after leaving Bremerhaven... technically it stayed on the ship and didn't land on British soil, but close enough.
