This is growing in the woods behind my yard. It looks bigger in person than in these pics, I'd say at least fifteen inches around.

That is probably just the bit poking above ground, scouting for prey. The entire fungus can cover acres below the ground and one day it will consume you as walk unsuspectingly about on the ground.
