There are some 23i dealer demonstrators around that they won't be able to sell yet but they are production cars they can sell on in a few months.

Customer cars, not sure I suspect a few will trickle in during the latter part of this month.

Some of the Hybrid and Electric options will be next year before they are delivered from what I understand.

I'm a bit jealous the rest of the world gets more engine options. I can't go full electric due to a lack of charging options where I live, but I might've considered a hybrid if it didn't sacrifice performance much. At last fill up, gas was $5.59 a gallon here (1.65 British pounds/liter), so I'm not sure a hybrid would be worth it if leasing here unless the cost difference wasn't much. But it would be nice to have the choice lol.

Any UK people still on this UK thread?

Put my order in for an iX1 yesterday to replace my iX3.
Delivery estimate is February but i'm planning to swap them over in April when my iX3 reaches its first birthday.

I've gone for the Blue Bay Lagoon paint - fingers crossed that was a good choice!

Tony is a good friend but my last few cars have actually come through another friend (at BMW in Hungerford). Not sure what deals are available at the moment, the consensus seems to be that demand is so far outstripping supply on almost everything that deals are a little thin on the ground.

I was trying to sort out a pair of M2's as well but with the launch being pushed back to May (not March) and the cars coming from Mexico i doubt we'll see any customer cars before June...

Just curious why your swapping from an IX3 to a IX1? My plan was for an IX1 but the 3 worked out cheaper per month for a more expensive car, so I've gone that way. Being nosey what's influenced the change.

The iX3 was a stopgap car - i was supposed to get an i3S but there was a production issue. The iX3 has done its job but i have spec'd the iX1 how i want it and i'll keep it for longer as a result, and over the period i plan to keep it the residual value is stronger.

In the UK the cheapest plugin-hybrid X1 (xDrive25e) is over £7,500 dearer than the cheapest mild hybrid (sDrive20i). Based on a 50% residual value after 3 years, at current pump prices (£1.55/litre) that difference equates to more than 530 gallons of petrol. At an expected average consumption of 36mpg that would pay for the fuel for the cheaper MHEV for over 19,000 miles, which is just over 3 years of motoring for us.

Factoring in the cost of electricity for the PHEV (generously allowing 3.5 miles per kWh with a capped kWh unit cost of £0.33) would add £1,800 to the ownership costs of the PHEV over the same 19,000 miles.

In the UK the cheapest X1 PHEV will be over the £40k threshold for luxury car tax which will incur an additional £710 liability for excise duty for years 2 and 3.

Of course if your vehicle is purchased on finance then the extra £7,500 on the list price is going to incur additional charges due to interest.

Ordered 13 November 2022, built 29 November 2022, delivered 30 December 2022.

Should have been delivered 23 December 2022 but for some reason it missed the transporter from Immingham.

I had the exact thoughts. Also one other point for me was the charging time for PHEVs, which is around 3 hours. This will be difficult when you travel country side and you have to schedule your travel according to this charging time. My suggestion will be get an EV, if can't get an ICE. PHEV is no good if you are travelling a lot, also if you don't charge it, the additional weight will stress the 1.5 ltr engine.

Most of our annual usage is my wife's 20 mile round trip commute, 4 days a week. The X1 PHEVs will cover this on electric power on a fully charged battery and we have off-street parking and a garage to support the overnight charging required but the large premium over the cost of the MHEV, rising electricity prices and falling petrol prices means it doesn't make sense for us.

When North Wales, the Lake District and the North Yorkshire coast get public charge points I may consider an EV.

with Msport xdrive23i (Techplus & Comfort Packs) the difference with PHEV with same specs is just £4000. But still that's additional £100 per month if you are financing that amount.
