Is order number from dealer or BMW AG.
It took 5 weeks for my order to be accepted by BMW AG together with estimated build of week 18

How are you finding the X1 20i? The wife is considering getting one and like you its a toss up between the 25e or the 20i. She has an X1 20d at the moment and did have a 3 cylinder in the prior 2AT she had but the was quite a bit lower powered.

The dealer passes the order to BMW, once accepted dealer will receive a production order number which you can use to track order with BMW online genius
also an estimate date of production, it took 5 weeks for me

BMW AG= Bayerische Motoren Werke Aktiengesellschaft

BMW AG basically refers to BMW Corporate or factory in this case.

Our point of reference is our previous F40 118i M Sport DCT with the 136hp 3 pot engine.

Our usage is mostly urban commuting and the X1 seems to be similar in performance to the 118i in this respect. The X1 is heavier (1625kg vs 1350kg) but has a bit more power and torque from this new B38 engine and then some assistance from the electric motor.

If you are looking for similar performance to your current 190hp/400Nm X1 20d then I think that you will find the sDrive20i somewhat lacking, based on my experience with a G20 320d loaner last year.

However, if you were previously happy with the performance of the 2AT 3 pot engine then the sDrive20i may not disappoint.

The xDrive25e list price is £7.500 more than the sDrive20i. The extra £3,750 in depreciation is more or less equivalent to our petrol costs for those 3 years so the xDrive25e doesn't make sense for us.

She doesn't need the power she drives like miss daisy but suspect likes to have it when it's there. She doesn't like the toys so now see's a HUD as essential so that somewhat limits what we can replace it with. A new X1 seems the logical conclusion its which model and when she wants to spend her pennies, well that is a different matter entirely :-)

I suspect the 20i is good enough for her unless we can find something used with a HUD but having looked today they are all premier spec not premier Pro so that isn't an option. I think she prefers the pennies sitting in her account anyway I think.

So we have ordered a new motor went for the 25e in the end. What are people finding for delivery in the UK at the moment.

And for those that haven’t got a premier spec does the car come with speed limits info (SLI) by default? I know the car we tested did but the dealer wasn’t sure if you need to get the Drive Assistance Pro to make sure it’s there they are looking into it.

So found out the answer to my question SLI is standard on an X1 woo hoo.

But nobody ordered recently or a while ago not got an ETA / tracking yet for UK orders or is everyone being a bit shy? Not heard back from the dealer yet on the order it's gone in today so fingers cross we get the info shortly.

I've ordered with my dealer in mid December, still no update on the status. Genius told me it might take 4 months to accept the order and get the build status or VIN number

The unofficial build date is assigned a week after the order is submitted to BMW by the dealer. But the real date can be changed and it varies on the specific case. I ordered mine one month ago and still no confirmed build date.

Yikes really - what have you ordered? Surely you have an order number and an estimate from the factor. How odd, will have to see, we got told we would get the order No. today and the factory order No. within a week.

Any messing about won't go down well but we aren't in a hurry either.

I ordered for M Sport xdrive23i Black Saphire model. I got an order from the dealer, but when I asked in BMW official website, they told it still awaits for build slot and contact again to get any updates.

Check out some of the X3 forums for the timelines, I guess it's a few months in and when the car goes to build and gets the slot is quite quick after that.

So we had a call from the dealer today, was told it would be 4-5 days to get an order No. now told it will be 2 weeks before we do. The fun and games of dealing with BMW dealers begins.

Looks like we might get the car by June apparently or maybe earlier. Let be honest its easier to predict the weather 2x weeks out than it is to know which way an order will go with BMW.

Our M Sport with only standard Driving Assistance displays speed limit info. Permanent speed limits come from the map data but it will also read road signs using the windscreen (KAFAS) camera.

It also shows approaching speed limit changes, i.e current speed limit is 30 but changes to 40 in 350 yards. Optionally, it will sound a warning if you are exceeding the current speed limit and/or when the speed limit has changed.

Speed camera warnings available by subscription for £25/year (£20/year during the Black Friday sale in November).

Thanks Ronime for the info good to know. She really really likes the SLI today on here current car and for a while BMW dropped it as standard on some models. It just wasn't clear until I managed to find the standard specs after 50 clicks of the 'online' brochure. Why oh why BMW UK isn't producing the good old PDF with the specs comparison in it I don't know.

How in the future you are meant to know what a Premier or Premier Pro used to come with as they don't do them as specs in the UK anymore is a little frustrating. I managed to find a PDF for Germany that has LOADs of info on what the car could come with (once translated) but it's only specific to their market. The online brochure is almost devoid of any real detail compared to the German PDF.

Yes. Our 2016 F30 320i was devoid of road speed limit information. No KAFAS camera on that car and the navigation map updates were a bit sketchy. The F40 that replaced it had a KAFAS camera and fairly frequent navigation map updates. X1 is similar to the F40 in that respect, in fact the 2023-1 navigation map update for the X1 became available on the same day that we took delivery.

I ordered mid December too and was advised Week 18 build (May) but dealer made contact this week to advise this is now Week 8 (Feb) - which would be fine except I'll now have to pay an early settlement on my current lease........but I should be happy I know.....odd mind you given the shortages and long lead times.....

May depend on what specs you have chosen as to why some cars come early and why some are delayed.
