Sport Vs Efficiency Mode MPG for US Spec X1

Hi y’all,

As you can tell from the caption, I,m wondering what the MPG difference is between using Sport Mode and Efficiency Mode. I,d rather drive in sport but not if there’s a huge mpg hit..

Thanks for your replies. US spec X1

What about regular, you are going to the far extremes of dull throttle that can change up super early or leave each gear longer than it needs and change faster.

I rarely ever drive in either the comfort or regular in an X1 provides enough of both.

us spec doesn’t have a “regular” so I,m not sure what you mean by that. But my question is a simple one, how many more mpg (if any) does efficiency mode give you than sport mode

Doh not regular I meant personal. Think that is the new what was comfort mode that is just default middle of the road.

If you use cruise control for the major part of your journeys then Efficient mode is not going improve your consumption significantly, I suspect.

Efficient mode provides an estimated metric of how much extra range you gave gained by using that mode. Not sure how you reset the "meter" (Journey Data, Reset Individual perhaps?) but if you did reset it and then used Efficient mode exclusively for your regular/daily journey for a few days you might get an idea of any potential fuel savings.

Or I guess that you could use "Individual" for Journey Data, reset it, drive your regular commute for a few days in Sport mode, note the average consumption, reset it and then drive again for the same number of days in Efficient mode.

Do bear in mind that differences in ambient temperatures and traffic congestion day-to-day are going to make these kinds of comparisons very unscientific.

Canada, so l/100km.

Efficient - ≈7.5 l/100km.
Personal - ≈8.8 l/100km
Sport - ≈10+ l/100km

Efficient to Personal is 15% of savings.

Last 2000km was monitored. All in Combined.

Personal city with juttering stop and go and sluggish off the line, 8 to 9l 100km. Sport mode and rid off all that stuff 10 to 11 l 100km. But I'd take that over the mess of personal mode. Similar to my prior BMW city efficiency anyway. I'll do economy or personal highway cruise.
