x1M35 - Steering Wheel and M Seatbelts
Has anyone seen confirmation that the m steering wheel with the red stripe and the m strip seatbelts will be included? Not seeing anything on the standard features list or the configurators.
My online visualizer for my build has the red brakes which are not on the normal bmw usa visualizer but not the steering wheel or seat belts that are seen in the press release photos. Anyone have confirmation these items are coming as standard?

Here is the US Press announcement - it doesn't mention it specially but it appears in the images as being there for the wheel and belts in the shots.

BMW NA provided a small compensation for it if you complained. I wondering if they will do the same here if those 2 items pictured are included. I guess time will tell, I’d rather the details than the compensation but worth asking.

I’ve done a decent amount of research on this, and have found little verified information.
Dealer states M specific wheel is confirmed but whether that mirrors the current m Spec wheel or the one pictured in every press release “12 o clock red stripe” Seat belts and door sills still remain to be confirmed and not much information is posted on this, in the descriptor it does state “m specific interior” which I was told was an alcantara headliner, m paddle shifters. I have been able to confirm that the shadow line lights do in fact have the orange plastic on them due to DOT regulations |

Yes, the headlights I had heard about... shame but I think that is instead of the reflectors in the bumper/ fenders.

Here is an image from the global press release stating M steering wheel with red 12 o'clock stripe and M stitching. Also M specific gearshift paddles which are longer than the M sport paddle shifters in the M trim of the base model.
From the press release itself it states... M-specific interior, optional M Sport seats. The promise of a high-performance experience is reiterated inside the cabin. Highlights include an Alcantara-trimmed instrument panel, Aluminum Hexacube Dark interior trim elements, an anthracite-colored headliner, M door sill trim, M pedals, the M-specific graphics of the BMW Curved Display – and, optionally, the BMW Head-Up Display – and an M leather steering wheel with shift paddles. So it states here, M door sill trim and M wheel with paddle shifters. I don't see the Alcantara instrument panel in the photos. No mention of seat belts in the text. This is global, not country specific, so who knows... Kind of a messy rollout, me thinks. On a side note, it looks like US cars will not have the small Mbadges on the fenders. My order states... 3DZ Without Lines designation outside N/C. Why? Your guess is as good as mine; at least its no charge. |

I had a 2014 M235i which had the M badges on the front fenders, but I know they were removed for the 2015 model year at least here in the US.

Also wondering if the M35i will have the active front grill? the current X1 28i and other trims have a motorized door behind the grill/ in front of the radiator that moves open or closed when the car is on or off. Any one know if this feature will be on the M35i? |

I’d be shocked if it isn’t there in some or all markets. It’s part of what BMW used to market as efficient dynamics which reduces the drag by being closed when the car is cool or it’s cold outside etc.

They definitely meant anthracite or whatever it is headliner.
And I’d assume active grill vents yes. But have not seen specific mention anywhere.

Red stripe has been added to the Visualizer, but nothing on the M seatbelts yet.
