Hi All. I know I’ve seen a post here where someone put tape over the mirror lights to make them more general lighting, rather than a BMW logo. But has anyone seen any options for replacing the BMW logo with something else? M logo for example?

I'm not at home right now, so I don't have a pic.

I used a piece of frosty adhesive film to cover up a small part of the light lens, just enough so it only obscures "BMW" on the ground.(which seems a little tacky to me)

Agreed. I saw your post, was wondering though, if anybody has seen any replacement films instead. But that’s not a bad idea at all as an alternative.

If anyone finds a way to change these I'd be all over this. I don't care for the design much. From what I can tell you'd probably have to at least remove the mirror housing to access the lens though.

Agreed. I was in there swapping mirror glass this weekend and forgot to check.

What was the reason for swapping the mirror glass? Did you get the convex EU glass?

Nice, been debating doing this. Where did you get the part from? All I've found so far were lightly used glass on eBay from Eastern Europe.

eBay yeah. What’s weird is the driver side looks as I expect with the dotted line separating from the blind sport mirror part. Passenger doesn’t have that part. They insist it is still aspherical but doesn’t look it. Weird.

Can’t really tell if the passenger is any wider.

It was one of the first things I tried to change. I even went to my dealer and asked to purchase the bmw roundel logo light to replace this logo, but apparently they do not offer replacement parts for the mirror lights and they are not the same size as the door light parts

That being said, we’ve heard many stories here where our local dealers know less than we do. So if anyone gets a chance to dig through inside the mirror, please let us know!

If it helps, I can confirm that my mirrors look the same. Drivers side has the dotted line, passenger side doesn’t.

I thought about checking if the door light lens would work. I feel like it can’t be that hard to develop something for this but who knows.

Had not seen any thing yet which is why I made the post. Hopefully someone has something coming.

This actually makes me feel better, I wasn’t sure why that would be but if that is truly how they are then I’m happy. Thanks for confirming!

On my M2 I have the euro glass and both sides have the dotted lines at the end so this seemed weird to me.

Completely speculating here, but it might be due to difference in ride height and width of the cars? Might be that the X1 doesn’t need as much asphericity as the M2?

Could be for sure. M2 is also a few years older. Things may have changed until now.

I did prefer the lights in the door handles in my 328, but I guess it's not feasible with these flush design handles. I could do without the BMW advertisement projection.

Mind sharing where you sourced these from? Would like one for the driver side as I always feel unconfident in merging even though sensors say I’m good
