Exhaust Flap Fuse

Hey guys,

Looking to disable exhaust flaps ... is there a dedicated fuse to pull?

Thanks!

Put the car in Sport mode and disconnect the electrical connector to the exhaust valve. It should stay open then. Works with most other BMW's.

I would need to see the fuse diagram otherwise. Usually there is either a sticker in the fuse box or in the manual...I can't find the manual in pdf form on the interwebs yet.

I can't find the symbol for the exhaust valve controller. I'm sure they have omitted it from the chart or have not listed it anywhere due to the noise pollution laws in Europe.

The most common "fix" and my recommendation is a much easier way to do it. Buy blank plug caps and pull the electrical connector on the valve controller.

Turn on the car, select sport setting when the car is warm which opens the valves, look in the tailpipe to make sure the valve is open, pull the plug (should be just behind the muffler, you can't miss it), put the blank cap on the plug and secure it to the module.

You should be good to go. I'll ask some mechanics if they know the fuse and let you know when I have an answer because I can't tell from the fuse chart.

Thank you
I did this, but it must be 2 Persons.
The valves just opens when u give gas(trottle) if you dont, it closes immediately. One person must give trottle, and when it opens you must unplug the wires

Or you can use a stick to push it open.

I was told that the Exhaust Flap Fuse is #52, a 7.5 Amp Fuse. However, nobody knows the EXACT location of the fuse panel.

There's one fuse panel under a trap door under the passenger dash and another on the driver's side footwell near the OBD connector.

Can't tell you which one has fuse you want without seeing the specific fuse map for that particular vehicle.
