new M sport pro pack-m sport brakes

Hello guys! It's my first time posting here on the forum! I have a BMW X1 u11 23i a couple of months now with m sport pack. I always wanted the big m sport brakes but they were't available when I ordered mine. I now see that on the configurator they are available. Can I retrofit them on my dealer? is it an easy modification or it's going to create more problems on the braking system?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Interesting. Can you give a link or screenshot? I went to bmw.gr(based on your location) and failed to find any option referring M Sport Brakes in configurator.

Go check the german configurator on bmw.de
If they are available on the german configurator, on a couple of weeks they are going to be available everywhere

They’re available on German and Austrian website. I’m going to speak to my BMW dealer tomorrow to see if I can change my order to include the new brakes, new M Spoiler, new M seat belts, and new shadowline lights. Hopefully it doesn’t delay my order

Yeah seem to be €650 option that can be added for M-Sport brakes with blue or Red caliper.

And i have paid 65K to BMW for those stupid bicycle brakes on my 23i. Why these options aren’t available from the beginning?

I see. DE configurator seems down now, but on AT they are indeed available. Looks like just painting, no any changes in tech.

Seeing as it’s a new addition to the configuration, I doubt any customers have one in possession yet, let alone looked at the master cylinder to compare. You’re going to have to wait a while considering the backlog of vehicles yet to be manufactured.

most replies that I read here and elsewhere all said the only thing different was the color of the calipers. did you find anything on the BMW website that says the brake rotors are bigger?

If it's just the painted calipers, many people have already done it. (usually red, but I remember seeing one painted in blue to match the blue bay lagoon color of the X1)

On a hybrid car the friction brake characteristics will almost certainly need to be taken into consideration when blending friction braking effort with that provided by battery regeneration.

As such I suspect that it is not simply a case of bolting on some bigger disks and calipers.

A few on Facebook seem to be suggesting even more changes coming in, material on the seats, the dash options changing a bit more and the seats and brakes as well. Not clear if the extra cost is just for the seats or not and which markets are going to get them.

Some have mentions M-Sport paddles are going to be extra and not standard. Prices also set to go up in June to go with the spec changes.

The seat material has had a name change from Sensatec to Veganza. Not sure if this also means that the actual product is different.

Yes, and blue stitching seems to have been replaced by black.

Not in Austria. At least not sure for the alcantara/veganza mix.

Do you know if the steering wheels is leather?(sourced from animal skin) If so, doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose of having veganza/sensatec non-animal skin seats?)

Good question! I honestly don’t know. I remember someone mentioning that the steering wheel might be real leather regardless of what seat option we choose. If that’s true, I think it’s maybe got to do with durability over time? Or better sweat absorption?

The steering wheel is nappa leather and it’s gorgeous.

Here is the official update on what is new for those that haven't seen it.

Quote:
M Sport package Pro now also available for the new BMW X1 and new BMW iX1.

From July 2023, the range of optional equipment available for the new BMW X1 and new BMW iX1 will now include a model-specific M Sport package Pro. This option will be offered as an extension of the M Sport package and helps to shine an even brighter spotlight on the dynamic character of the compact Sports Activity Vehicle.

This new option includes extended M High-gloss Shadowline trim, the M rear spoiler, the M Sport braking system with red or – if desired – dark blue callipers, plus M seat belts. Specifying the optional Adaptive LED Headlights also brings M lights Shadowline.

New for the BMW X1, BMW iX1 and BMW 2 Series Active Tourer: seat surfaces in Veganza perforated.

New upholstery variants available from July 2023 will underscore the premium character inside the new BMW X1, new BMW iX1 and new BMW 2 Series Active Tourer. Seat surfaces in Veganza perforated trim can be ordered as an option for these models.

This vegan surface material with leather-like properties can be specified in Black, Mocha or Oyster. The M Alcantara/Veganza combination in Black with blue contrast stitching is also available for cars with the M Sport package.
