MID unit + DSP button (no DSP screen)

Hi -

I recently replaced my ignition cylinder housing. And since I reinstalled the steering wheel, the stereo controls IE. Volume up volume down next song last song, etc., is not working. However, my cruise control and auto for climate control is working on the steering wheel. I think it could be the clock spring, however I am curious if anyone else recognizes this issue.

One additional thing I wanted to mention is that I recently sent out my Radio MID + DSP for a new LED ribbon to be installed and when I plugged the radio back in, I was able to set the date and time and a few other things, but then the radio completely froze and is stuck on the same radio FM station unless I put a tape in but once I remove the tape, it still stuck back on that same radio station. Does anybody have any ideas as to what the issues I am dealing with are?

I wonder if you would have better luck with an answer if you posted your question here: https://e39.5post.com/forums/index.php

Assuming that your E39 is between 2004-09?
