Gentlemen,
I received a call today from the dealership letting me know the driver air bag is now available and I scheduled an appointment for replacement. They said the process will take ~4 hours end-to-end. I checked the Safety recalls associated with my VIN and the status of the open recall also changed to “Remnedy Available”. Hopefully the status changed as well for those with the same open recall. I’ll keep you posted! |

The dealers know that before long they’ll be service centres only as the VMs are set upon selling cars directly. Making hay whilst the sun shines still |

So I stopped by the dealer on my way home on Saturday and checked to see if they had the parts to fix the airbag recall. The service advisor looked up my VIN and said they don't have the parts available yet to fix it, and to just keep checking the BMW USA site for updates. Just checked it today, and of course now it says "remedy available" lol. Guess I'll be taking it in next week! I've already asked if they could disable the horn honk when I leave the car with the engine on, they said they'll look into see if they can code it out.
