No problem with getting smooth starts as well with the xD28i X1, must be my experience with driving a Miata 6sp manual transmission!

I remember when I was test driving the U11 X1, my BMW salesman told me: "imagine driving it like a stick-shift car that shifts itself"(or something like that)

You’ll find the delay soon enough lol. I’ve driven stick all my life up until the last car (and I really miss it), and none of them had a random throttle delay like this. The hard part is it’s not consistent either, but it’s only in Comfort (and maybe Efficient mode). Sport mode behaves just like a manual without having to shift.

So, I finally saw a silver one yesterday which passed me going the opposite direction. I have no idea what came over me, but I turned around and tried to follow it but lost them. I have no idea what I would say to the owner if they parked and I approached them.... but it's nearly impossible to even see one at any of the dealerships and I've been waiting for mine since December. I just want to see one up close! I'm obsessing over this and it looks like late April at a minimum! How would you feel if someone approached you in a parking lot about wanting to see your car and ask questions?

People (mainly Chinese tourists) have been taking photos with my car when it’s parked at hotel valets. I also catch people doing the walk around of my car at the mall occasionally but they quickly walk away when they see me walk up to it.

After 4.5 months, I finally saw another U11 X1 on the road today -- white xLine. I'm guessing it was the same one parked outside the dealership the night before I picked mine up.

I was at OHSU in Portland yesterday, and walking back to my car..... I spotted at 23 X1 with x-line and black grill. Car was all black. Bigger than we remember but really loved the car.
Our X1 is in Transport mode to Oregon this weekend. Counting our days!

I saw my first x1, grey M sport, proudly parked in a driveway facing out yesterday. It was so good looking I did a doubletake before I even knew what I was looking at! I wanted to knock on their door and talk to the owner by that would be weird lol. 😜

Sooo. this is crazy. or fate. But as we were in Portland for a few more days, we were looking for X1's everywhere as we went about our business there. BMW's everywhere there! With only the above X1 spotted, and maybe another drive by in white, our hopes were dashed that we never saw a Cape York Green one. Checked out of hotel, and as we drove out of the parking lot, there she was at our hotel! Finally! Of course, we hope to have ours in another week, but it sure was nice to finally see one in person in our color.

saw one in the rear view mirror this afternoon while dropping off a UPS package.

then I realized that it was the reflection of my own X1 in the store's tinted windows.

so I used the chance to see what the rear turn signals and reverse lights looked light.

a long time ago, I had a Toyota Prius. back then, Prius owners were still waving at each other on the streets. I got tired of that and stopped waving. However, I had a fellow Prius owner who didn't see me wave, so she honked and flashed the highbeams at me.(in a friendly way) <sigh>

Are we new X1 drivers going to start a trend where we raise our index finger(to indicate "X1)) when pass by each other on the streets now?

Over the last couple of weeks I've started to notice quite a few, they look great on the move.

Seen Black / Grey and Silver ones so far, no blue or green yet. Saw one in London yesterday and for some reason its plastic trims were off on the front wheels but on on the back it was an iX1 stuck in traffic.
