This actually looks good. Good proportions, and I love the taillights. I would totally daily drive this.

People complaining about the lack of iDrive knob clearly haven't owned another brand recently. Terrible interface compared to a decent touch screen. Our VW and Volvo both work better without a knob. Let's not talk about my Mk8 R however…

If its using the UKL FWD platform may be a way of differentiating the RWD and FWD based Bimmers by chassis codes.

Solid build all-around. I'm impressed and enticed!

Anyone gonna take about the fact that it's a seven-speed dual clutch…? On an X1…? When it's not even offered on M cars…?

Ngl this made me more confused. So we're skipping from g-U because u means FWD?

This thing is extremely competitive and an easy choice over its rivals. Buyers are those people who inexplicably want a car on stilts. But it's a hit segment and this might be one of the best looking versions. The DCT comes as a shock as I thought it was all Aisin on these.

Omg!

What a beautiful design inside and out!

I have a lot of respect for the BMW design team!

Several of the F48 models used DCT as well.

Ford has used DCT in several of their smaller/cheaper cars for a dozen+ years. I think DCT fell out of favor due to worse fuel efficiency and inability to handle higher torque loads.

Possibly the DCT in the F48/U11 is smaller than the 8-speed Steptronic, and probably costs less. Even if there is a fuel economy trade-off.

iDrive 8: Let's tack an even bigger wide-screen iPad to the dash, without actually integrating it into the dash at all.

That abomination looks like it should be a forklift dash. Fire the entire design team and start over. Oh, and have an option to customize the gauges, with one being to have 2 large round dials as one of the options - rather than that angular hard-to-read-at-a-glance nonsense.

I'm curious about this as well. Where's the hot version we saw with the quad tip tailpipes?

"Exterior design with true BMW X-vehicle design elements and premium character."

This mambo jambo makes me laugh... Beside the pompous irrelevant text, should I understand that the previous exterior design was with fake elements...?
LOL, and when you think there is no room for more idiots in this brand...😂

Rather put a TRUE xDrive system in there BMW, (you know, that RWD biased system) and stop calling the Haldex what is not... FWD shitty Haldex IS NOT a true Xdrive...

Nice work BMW design! Lots of good things happening on this car, great surface development and proportions given what was probably a challenging package to wrap. Interior is a knockout but I still don't care for the gauge design on any of the new models. Maybe a tach is available in the settings?

True, it's a different size/segment. But I imagine there are still lots of EV shoppers that wouldn't mind something smaller than a Y, but nicer than a Bolt EUV.
Yeah I am one for sure. Is this confirmed bmw isn't bringing the iX1 to the us!!?

It looks nice but the front grill and design reminds me of Charlie Chaplin.
