Manufactured in Mexico
I understand. I just called BMW Genius to confirm estimated completion date. She advised my x2 is being manufactured in Mexico. Has anyone heard this? I thought all x2 were manufactured in Germany.

I think you and I have probably accidentally entered a parallel universe or something.... because just a few minutes ago, BMW put 22-inch tires on my X1 for no reason. I'm still trying figure that one out. |

22s?! Oh wow! Ha! I called back and got a different person. He originally said South Carolina, I was like no, it's Germany. So he placed me on hold and came back on the line and confirmed it is in fact Regensburg, Germany.

At least they didn't say it's coming from BMW's factory in South Africa or China. (my friend's 3-series was manufactured in South Africa... before that, I didn't even know that BMW shipped cars from South Africa to the US)

wait until your X2 is loaded on a ship, then you will enjoy all the ship-tracking fun! (at least I did when my X1 was sailing across the Atlantic) |

Thanks for the info. I'll wait patiently... lol I wish I could read the manual, but it won't be uploaded until my car is completely done (that's what I was told when I called in).

study hard! I did that months before my X1 arrived last April.
I even had the whole 380 pages of X1 PDF manual printed and bounded at Staple's.(because I had a bunch of unused gift cards) at 8.5x11, it was much easier to read than the tiny paper manual included in the glove box. (yes, senior citizen problem) |

I'm gonna study so hard, that I won't need an overview on the day of delivery...lol
From previous experience, my "how to" ove4view are pretty quick and they always suggest I come back for a more in depth over view. |

Newbie here, just received my estimated week of delivery for an IX2 as mid-June! I placed my order 12th February for anyone wondering what delivery time frames may look like. Considered the ix1 for a while but changed my mind, hopefully it was the right decision

For those waiting or looking at an X2 a few reviews on the links below. As ever these are just opinions of judgemental road testers so take what you want from them. There reviews below are UK magazines.

but as I'm always open to all positive and negative points of view to be fair and balanced.... are there anti-BMW websites that do BMW reviews? (other than Savagegeese which has been quite critical of some recent BMW models such as the X1 and the new G60 5-series) |

The bar for BMW is fairly high in the UK, must ride well and handle well and everything else like good build and great interface have been a given; until recently. And as such the criticism of the ride isn't unfair, they hate that they get setup when doing 150mph on an Autobahn for example and going round the Ring when that's not really the most important things a normal customer needs.
We want them to handle well but take a good hit from a pothole without rattling out our fillings. As for the interface, BMW got criticised at first with the iDrive but then they refined it and it was great. Today it's seen as a major step back that in the junior lower models they have removed it. These are expensive, premium cars, so compromises don't go down well at all. Is the X1/2 a good car, yes, could and should it be better considering how well they 'can' do, I think the answer is yet. |

Missing and dreaming of V8 era. He is describing an M performance model (the X2 M35) as a vehicle that transfers people from A to B. |

nothing wrong with missing the V8 era. That's what we old folks grew up with. I learned to drive in a 5.7L V8 when I was a kid. Or better yet, a nice real V-12(i.e. Mercedes or even a Jag)
