looks like white is the overwhelming favourite color around here....
my CA said that almost all of his Chinese customers(almost all from Hong Kong in my area) buy white BMWs with red seats because apparently that combination is considered lucky? (not sure why... if there are any Chinese here, please let us know why) |

two months with my Space Silver. (the other choices were black and cape york green, but I thought Space Silver looked better with M Sport package exterior)

Why are there always so many white cars?
When I was buying one in stock on the lot there were maybe 4 non-white ones then like ten alpine white ones. For M ones they had a white one and a paint primer gray one. |

Alpine White, Mocha and Eucalyptus 'wood' XLine
1/ In sunnier climates white reflects the heat particulatly if the car is left stood (and we have a dog) wheras you could fry an egg on the bonnet of no cost option jet black. 2/ Alpine white (and Estoril Blue) were often seen on high spec MSport models (the two colours on the BMW propeller badge) and I have had both Alpine and Estoril on previous Msports 3/ I would rather have HK than metallic for the same cost, I specced my car to be under the UK's £40K luxury car road tax which if exceeded would mean an additional £390 a year road tax for 5 years. Metallic and HK would have cost me £2500 extra 4/ Some of the new bright metallics look good to me because they are 'different', but Ive bought different colours in the past and have 'fallen out' with the colour long term 5/ The main reason is that I think the X models look good in white and metallic mineral white too although ive seen mineral white in the flesh and couldnt tell it was metallic without close scrutiny Last edited by Yorksdales66; 02-04-2024 at 03:49 AM.. |
