Kind reminder: The topic is for idrive9 and not for HUD or any other minor updates.

actually, I read on a French website(of all places) that iDrive9 will have improved navigation display and add more functions to the HUD. But since iDrive9 will not appear on the X1 until October/November(?), it's already too late for me, as my X1 has already left factory a few days ago. Sure hope whatever they add to the HUD via iDrive9 will trickled down the iDrive8.5 for those of us with X1 on iDrive8.

Why won’t the PHEV models be getting iDrive9? I’m currently waiting on my 30e with a late April build date and was looking forward to the upgrade

I suspect they are going for the simpler model first and then will expand to all of them in time. Not sure if they will add the PHEV in the UK before it goes wider or not. Might just be that the UK, ICE cars are guinea pigs to iron out the bugs first before it goes wider. Early adopters might go through a tough few months potentially before the fixes start appearing.

Not sure what to make of this but my new X1 has just been put on delivery stop at the dealers on the very morning of the daybI was supposed to collect it.

The stop notice refers to ‘Head Unit Software’ and states that new and used vehicles cannot be handed over to customers until further notice ?!?!

The dealer don’t seem to have any info on what action needs to be carried out or when it will be notified of such action……. Very frustrating!

Yeah, that is what I am wondering…… time will tell. Either way, I hope they sort whatever the stop is quickly as I’m going to have to start to spend on my current car soon!

I think it was always likely there could be some early id9 issues, which is why I never viewed it as a positive that mine might be coming with it. Let’s hope it gets sorted soon…

The positive is there should be more interest in fixing ID9 issues.

Yeah true but I suspect there may be more issues for the first 6+ months with the new head unit. Really the major beneifit / point of difference with id9 is the app store in which I have either zero interest or close to zero…if I could have id8 and a quicker delivery, I’d take it

Mine is definitely ID8 and according to the dealer it is not all U11 they have coming through and seems to be model specific, maybe due to one of my options? It is in the showroom all locked up number plates on and ready for delivery - as soon as the stupid stop is removed!
I think I might pop in tomorrow to see it in the flesh

Anybody got evidence that April Build UK ICE cars are sporting OS9? My dealer reckons it's not being rolled out until Oct/Nov in the UK....
