You did a fine work gqbriel!
The indication is very strange. I don’t think they designed the car in such a way that the battery should operate in a few percent range for so long! This would kill the capacity exponentially…

Depends on the market, they are standard in the UK for the PHEV models.

Tee hee - it's a good point well made. Probably why every sonorous engine and car ever made seems to be going up in value not down.

Goes off to look at sports cars......

Actually i did manage to drain the battery in the city showing 0 ...i had like 2kms more driving in the neighbourhood still,at one point it turned the engine on - but when i accelerated a bit harder it showed its draining battery...then when i reached home and slowed like really crawling speed it was back on electricity..so i guess it does have some spare battery charge for just in case.

Here is a really short video

Bottom right - no battery left
Center of dash - consumption of battery and clearly engine is off

Went down today to my local BMW and put in an order for a M Sport 30e, got told they have some build slots available for June so fingers crossed they can lock me in for then. Seeing people having to wait a full 6 months makes me feel I got a bit lucky.

Ordered on 15 February so probably not far off a 6 month wait by the time a few delays creep in!

How much electricity (kWh) does the BMW X1 30e consume from the home electrical grid until the battery is fully charged? I plan to charge it over night, so the car will be ready in the morning with preheated cabin.
Best regards.

Do you charge it daily? What’s the actual range on battery in winter time?

No I don’t charge daily, I use it locally most of the time so I get between 1.8mile-2.5mile per kwh. I expect this will increase during the warmer weather and I start to use it more.

So you drive mainly on electrical power. I also plan to use electricity most of the time (daily about 20km except on weekends), so I’m glad to hear that the power consumption is not overrated. In Slovenia, were I live, we have a lot lower electricity price than you have (0,15€ per kWh) and the petrol price per liter is 1,35€.

Best regards

At your mileage you should achieve better figures than me as mine is mainly 4-5 km journeys ie supermarket, grandkids activities, and so on.
Wish our electricity and petrol prices were as low as yours.

I ordered black color car. Is it bad for the battery because of heat if the car is parked on the sun?

Best regards

I don’t think that being left in the sun would be a problem the car will probably have a Battery Management System to regulate it. From what I understand the lithium ion batteries are safe upto 130 degrees Fahrenheit.

Here the daytime electricity price is 0,10 euro and night time is around half of it.
So Friday night till saturday 14kw - were 0.55 euro for the whole charge as it was mainly during the night price table.
Petrol here is the same 1,25 - 1.35euro .
I drive everyday approx 30-40kms for the past 2 weeks as i have the car for that long - in city i havent use a drop of petrol.

Something i noticed - night time, raining in cold weather drains the battery quite fast .
Today is one of the first true sunny days with approx 18 degrees outside temp and there is difference in the way the battery level drops ...it is way better in consumption.

Overall i am pretty happy with the 30e...in sport plus mode its a little beast - you can really shock a passanger and bang his head in the headrest
