We are the same build week and ordered the same day as you. The dealer is telling us arrival at their dealership (Midwest) sometime in November, possibly late October if we are lucky with a ship. Congrats on the new order.

Hey Gang,

I also called the Genius's today and my build with Individual paint is week 40 so that's October 2nd. Probably be a New Years baby! if they wait any longer I could add the compound brakes.

Exciting. Mind if I ask what color you ordered?

Any one have any ideas or insight on how long this process takes? I know based on some skimming through other threads, there seems to be some delayed updating on the tracker (i.e. marked "in transit" while it's already at the dealer).

Thanks in advance all!
I wonder if the Dual Clutch will have more sensitive feel for engagement of the accelerator. As more and more attractive x1s come out I’d love to see them address the transmission glitch with the lag.

not sure if this will ever be addressed, but I am hoping that with the "M" differential, it hopefully fixes or addresses some of the hesitation?

I personally think this is root caused with messing with the Auto H and the Auto start/off option.

However I think anyone who's ordered is very curious how the daily drive might be.

I have auto hold off turned off at all times, hesitation still happens. Also still happens when Auto Start/Stop is disabled. Pretty sure nothing short of a throttle remapping in comfort mode will fix it. I still stand by my opinion that it is 99% software related. From what I observe about the hesitation I don’t think a limited slip differential would have any effect on the hesitation.

It’s 100% throttle mapping. BMW could fix it today with a software update, maybe even OTA, but will they? They don’t have a good history of acknowledging faults.

Should we all rally up and start writing to BMW USA? If we can file enough formal complaints, at least we have it documented in the event that it becomes an even bigger issue down the line.

Unless this is a wasted effort because they just dont care?

Thoughts?

Anyone seen a status update on their M35? Mine finally went into production begins today. Updated timeline as follows, with delays assumed to be due to the frozen paint:

- 7/10, order placed
- 7/14, allocation confirmed
- 7/27, “scheduled for production” status
- 8/4, reverted to “order received” status
- 8/11, back to “scheduled for production” status
- 9/4, “production begins” status

They must be "quality check"-ing mine with a microscope as it's been about 3 weeks in that status now...

I spoke to a genius today who told me that my final production date was Sept 1st, but the tracker still showed "final quality check" so they're not sure but said the final production date is usually accurate. Did not tell me why it's still in this, said it could be they just didn't "check the box"

At this point it's actually come much sooner than I anticipated so I would welcome a slight slow down as we just bought a house and are trying to get some renovations done before we move in, so another NEW thing wouldn't be optimal for us.

I say this as a person who's already purchased an All-season wheel set up with tires, and a bunch of other goodies to throw on during delivery day.

What all-season wheel set did you go with? My dealer has been hesitant to advise me on one as BMW doesn’t have an “approved” one for the M35i and he’s worried about the stock X1 set not clearing the brake calipers.

I took a gamble and ordered some Rota grid 19x8.5, wrapped in pirelli p zero as plus 3, 245/45 square set up.

If they don’t clear (was told I shouldn’t have any clearance issues as they fit on other models that have an “M sport brake” set up.

We’ll see but I’m not too concerned..yet

How much larger are the M Sport rotors? I have 19" BBS RGR's on mine and it looks like there's room in the front to fit at least an inch larger rotors no problem, and the rears have plenty of room.

I don't have any official specs, but I feel confident that the Rota's have a bigger clearance on the interior drum in comparison to the stock OEM M wheels that the car is set to come with as the standard option.

I don’t think most 19” wheels should be an issue if that’s the case, unless you have a large lip on the face. There’s a fairly decent margin to play around with offsets in there if you’re not going wider than 8.5”. At my current ET32 offset I could go at least 1/2” wider in the fronts judging by the clearance inside the front fenders.

I think once I get the car broken in and once spring is on the horizon, I am likely going to sell the oem 20”s in place of something more aggressive, with a much more 20-25mm poke.

We’ll see though, really waiting to see what the winter brings and shows me what next mod might be.

Plan on dropping off at the ppf installer the same day of delivery.

The wheels go on a month (Nov) after the car is out of ppf and tinted. I want to spend about a month on the summer rubber in the cooler months to see how far I can go before I need to throw the AS set on.

On the fence about replacing the under seat subs, heard mixed reviews and it doesn’t sound compelling enough to warrant the spend, I’d rather much explore a powered sub set up and throw it in that dead space in the cargo area.

I don’t think anyone has released a drop in sun replacement yet, and last I checked Bavsound didn’t list anything for the new X1. I have a JL 10” box that I had in my f32 that I kind of want to throw in the spare tire well but haven’t gotten around to taking apart the rear to see where the speaker wiring is. I’m also not fond of having to run power from the engine bay all the way to the rear to power the amp. I really hate doing wiring lol.

It was easy in my f32 since the battery was back there, and someone made a plug and play harness to get the RCA’s off the factory amp.

Checked the tracker today, now it says "Quality Check 2024" which is making me a little nervous.

Anyone else seeing this on their end as well?

They all go through this step, the quality check. Nothing to worry about unless it stays there for more than 2 days, although the tracker is sometimes delayed in reporting the actual stage. I’d say call BMW genius if stuck in that stage for days.

Hey, I'm sorry it's taken so long to respond.
I agonized for a bit and finally settled on Utah Orange. I had wanted it on my original 2023 order but couldn't get it on the Msport. When that car arrived in Blue Bay Lagoon, I went to the dealer, didn't really like it, rejected it and ordered the color and car I had wanted originally. I like the orange and Black combo outside and the warmth of Mocha and wood on the inside.
Would have liked the M seats but wanted Mocha more.

It's been in QC for a couple of weeks now, called genius a few times they couldn't explain why its still in QC.

The concern i Have is that it went from QC to this new "QC 2024" whatever that means
