USMC, here I come.
To my fellow e90posters:
I've made an incredible life decision, and I'm joining the United States Marine Corps. Thanks to the members of the Armed Forces who responded to my other thread. Your advice is valuable to me. I made the decision to join the Marines over the Army, but my idea is still the same. I'll be in the Marines as a computer diagnostician and repairmen, while I get college learning and accumulate my GI bill, so I can get a healthy degree in the real world and do something worthwhile. Thanks for your comraderie this last year or so, E90posters. I won't forget any of you that i've met. Matt |

The Corps actually use Ooh-rah, but who's counting...
Good luck in basic man, I feel for ya. You will LOVE the Corps after basic Did you look into the Airforce at all? The Marines aren't exactly known for computer science training, but the Airforce has a kickass program. |

man... good luck. stay safe, and the least i can ask is for you not to get killed. considering your playing a non direct combat role, either way, you never know. btw, i suggest the air force, they are far more into all the gadgets and whatnot.
dont forget to log on E90Post from time to time, keep us posted. ohhh. and if you can, take some pics of the apache longbow for me

Thanks for your support guys. =) I appreciate it.
As for those asking me to look into the Air Force (or is it Chair Force? heh) I thought about it, but it's not quite right for me. I've been destined to be a Marine since birth. lol. I just convinced the Marines to make it more right for me. As for the computer stuff, it's just icing, not my goal. I'm doing computer sciences in the Marines for two reasons; Firstly, it's a real world usable talent, so I could use it for a job after service. Secondly, it's non-direct combat. It's not my reason for joining. I'm joining for the benefits, the glory, and the education, but mostly the education. When I get out of the service I will have no debt, enough money to buy a house, real world skills, and a degree. It's what I need. |
