CG Precision Valve Controller
So I came across this... which is interesting. This supposedly work with stock or Performance exhaust. This is basically the same control that high end aftermarket exhaust have such as iPE and Akrapovic. This open and closes the valve so you can get the sound to be loud or quiet. Only concern I have is if it'll damage your exhaust?

Hi Cbbplanet,
Thank you for the interest. The vsc-1 variable sound controller was designed to create a signal that opens or closes the exhaust valve just like the factory computer does, only at the push of a button whenever you want. There is no damage to the exhaust system or valve motor because we are using the same signals that the valve motor was designed to accept, and there is no negative effect from keeping the exhaust system fully open or closed for extended periods of time. The main function of the factory valve control was to 1. Allow the wastegate to be open during startup to warm up the catalytic converter faster without the exhaust being too loud for some conservative buyers and 2. To close the exhaust at lower rpm and engine load for the same reason, keeping the exhaust note down for conservative drivers. The controller is compatible with any exhaust system that uses the stock valve motor which includes the MPE. Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns. Thanks, CG Precision |

Anyone using this on a 2er?
Looking at getting one as I want more noise 24/7 even in comfort mode... But do occasionally want it back to factory settings if I go for a long drive which is like once every month or 2... So instead of unplugging it I still have an option without having the wire dangling |

Yea... got the delivery today... tried to install it... but there's not enough space between the device and the OEM valve controller unit and the "wall" maybe it's because its an aftermarket exhaust.
FAIL. Maybe I have to use an angle bracket of some kind to try to fit it in...

Would this be a good solution for quieter start-ups? If I have catless DPs, the startup is pretty loud which I don't like. Obviously it quiets down a little after about 30 seconds but during that time I'm sure my neighbors are rolling their eyes haha.

No, there is a 'cold start' routine programmed into the ECU that causes this. What I did for cold starts when I had a downpipe on the car was to slightly give it throttle and it will quiet down the exhaust. I held it for the or so 30 seconds until the sound goes down.
