E92 Drivers Seat Lumber Support Stopped Working
Yesterday I tried adjusting the lumber support. I could hear the motor turning but the lumber support was not adjusting. After a while the motor stopped. The electric seat is still working and so are the seat adjusters. Passenger seat is working fine.
Any idea on how to trouble shoot? Thanks in advance. Last edited by Ao1; 08-09-2014 at 03:41 PM.. |

It is filled with air, isn't it? Sometimes the duct which fills it can become disconnected.
I remember reading something on those lines long time ago. I'm on phone and cant search but if you search, you will find it. Good luck.

I took the back off the seat to try and see what is wrong. The seat is fully functional except for the lumber support. The side bolster works. The lumber support bag is partly inflated so that appears OK. (Highlighted in the red arrow.)
Does the motor (highlighted in the red box) drive the lumber and side bolster bags? If so it would seem that the problem is between the switch on the side of the seat and the motor because the motor does nothing when the button is pressed. (highlighted in the red box in the second photo). |

Sounds like the pump is not running when requested.Have a look for broken or chaffed wiring or pull off the side trim of the seat and check the switch hadn't come unplugged.
