What are members paying for 2011 328 CPO? Just trying to get an idea what to pay for 2011 328 24k miles with Auto/XDRIVE premier pkg and NAV. Dealer asking $28000 in CT.

Not sure what folks are paying but here is the wholesale value based on national auction results as of today for 2011 328 sedan:

Above Average Condition: $22,145.00 with 18918 average miles.

Average Condition: $19,174.00 with 37836 average miles.

Below Average Condition: $16,194.00 with 56754 average miles.

Sounds like that dealer is taking advantage you. You can get a CPO '11 335i loaded for that.

That's what the dealers in my area generally have listed for. They are all jn the same ball park. I am trying to figure what to offer and pay.

If you're willing to pay 28K, you can get a loaded 335i. But if you prefer 328i, that is way too much.

I think that's about right. 28k for cpo with low miles..

I've seen 328i range from 24k to 34k.

I payed 25k for my CPO 2011 328i with sport package. I got it with 31k miles.

28 is too much imo, maybe if you can knock it down to 23 - 24 it'll be more reasonable.

Car prices are subject to regional differences. You won't pay the same for identical cars if one is in NY and the other is in TN.

Here in the Portland area, $28k buys you a nicely optioned 328i CPO. Similarly equipped 335i CPOs are north of $36k.

In other words, if most other CPO 328s are in that ballpark, that's probably what it's worth in your region. You might be better served flying to a place where you can buy it for $4k cheaper and driving it back. Plus...road trip!

Take what I provided above, add about $600.00 for shipping if dealer bought at auction and shipped it, $2000.00 to buy CPO warranty from BMW and condition it, and around $3500.00 to $4000.00 gross profit to start at and BAM! there's your 28K. Especially in CT. As one poster said that car would be well bought at 24-26K in CT.

CPO is hardley worth it on a 328i

Maybe you should start looking at cars in the surrounding areas. Is it really worth paying a 2-3k premium? To be honest, I would start looking at other cars if the best you can do is a 328 for 28k. Because you have to factor in another $2-3k for taxes and fees. Then if you want to extend the maintenance package that's ~$1500 extra. Not worth it IMO.

I have looked. They are priced similar for most part.

I just picked up a 2011 328i x-drive CPO from BMW of Bridgeport. Paid $28,500 out the door (after all fees). Got nav, xenons, premium package. 22,300 Miles. Every other dealer i looked at had more miles and no xenons for about the same price. This was a no brainer. I also live in Boston and drove down to check out the car after finding it online.

I paid 28k (33k out the door) for 2011 328i xdrive cpo with 27k miles, premium, tech, nav, hk in august 2013. I think you should be able to find a better price.

We just paid $27K for a fully loaded CPO 2011 328i (premium package, M sport package, metallic paint, park assist, memory seats, automatic, navigation, xenons, etc., etc.) with 25,900 miles.

From my experience, the biggest deal with CPO is not necessarily the warranty. Rather, many used BMWs wind up going through the BMW dealers (typically on resale). The good ones they keep and sell as CPO cars. The bad ones they quickly get rid of, selling to jobbers. Those cars wind up in used car lots all over the city. Thus, at least here in Portland OR, the chance of getting a good car (e.g., clean Carfax, full maintenance records, low miles, cosmetically near-perfect) are so much higher with the CPO cars that for me it's worth the extra money.

Let me start by saying Carfax means crap. It doesn't give you whole story. Its good for some stuff. Certain dealer don't report to carfax. And if the dealer has a body shop in the dealership, any body work done will never make it to carfax.

Anyway I ended buying 2011 328xdrive with NAV, Sports package and HK Audio 43kmikes for $24k. BMW pays $1k for promotion offer. Final 23k. Sports Package are very hard to come by. I ended up buying from neighboring state. Any ways a week later after buying a CPO its getting a new transmission as I was getting vibrations in drive line. Go figure.... So much for a CPO...Long story........

As far as CPO goes. I have seen all sort of conditions of cars. Hole in bumper, decent size dents, scratches and so forth. I have been to about 10 dealers in my area. Every dealer has different standards for cpo even though BMW NA monitors it. Cars with half **s paint job just because the lessee didn't want to pay more to get it done right because it was lease. For dealers it's another used car.... Dealer will want to spent less $ to certify a car. Nothing to do with good or bad condition.

I have in the past bought from private party with car still under factory warranty and has worked well for me. I think going forward I will go that route before I get a cpo. This way I am not dealing with BS from stealership.

The local dealer here does not sell CPO cars without Carfax. As you say, it doesn't always give the whole story, but as you also say, "It's good for some stuff."

No doubt you drove the car before purchase. No doubt they did. So maybe the problem developed shortly after you bought it. The CPO process can't necessarily be blamed for that.

We previously bought a CPO E46 from the same dealer. The car was mint at the time of purchase, which might mean I just got lucky, OR it could mean that our dealer has good standards. The SA mentioned your point (about BMW NA monitoring) but also said in the years he's been working there, many cars have been sold before the CPO stuff gets done (oil change, detailing, removing the curb rash from the wheels, fixing broken stuff, etc.). He could be making it up, but he said not one of those cars was ever refused once the service dep't finished with the car. They also have it set up that if, after the CPO process is done, you don't want the car, you get your deposit back in full and simply walk away. Hopefully this isn't BS, but again our previous experience with this dealer was good.

While you got a good deal, your location is listed as "US." As you know, prices can vary quite a bit from market to market. The price of the E46 we got from these same folks years ago, for example, was way way below book value because it had manual and few people in Portland seems to want anything but automatic. Had it simply had automatic, in our market, the price would have been much higher.
