If you can, the new BMW of El Cajon. They work fast haven't messed up anything on my 335i and their parts department price matches any other BMW dealers online plus shipping (BMW of south Atlanta seems to be cheapest on most things)

Any recommendations for West LA? Other threads don't seem fond of Beverly Hills or Santa Monica. Would like a good service department.

Riverside looks like it would be a hike....

Glendale BMW make an appointment with SA Gilbert and request for Iman who's a master mechanic. That is the team right there. Iman is very honest on what needs fixing and Gilbert will make sure all your recalls are handled. Best of all free loaner usually a 328i.

McKenna in Norwalk and Crevier in Santa Ana are pretty good. I've been to the dealerships in Riverside and Ontario, and their service departments are horrible.

+3. My friends go to McKenna for service and have nothing but good things to say about them. I'm too far from them though so I go to Century West but they're decent. Ditched Glendale because they were a hit and miss for about a good year.

The word around here is indeed true. Stay far, far away from Santa Monica and Beverly Hills!

Anyone else have experience with service at Century West? I just moved and they are a mile down the street.

Up to now I've been going to Center BMW on Van Nuys and had good experience. I would drive up there from Beverly Hills (somehow I instinctively knew not to get my car serviced in that area).

I've been to BMW BH a couple of times. Check your car before you leave. They curbed my rims, revved my car for some reason, would not fix my foglight. Went to another dealership to get it replaced. They tried to charge me $190 for an in-between oil change. They had an Internet special for $80. Charged me $80 after I mentioned it. And if you get service and need a loaner they require 2 weeks in advance. Terrible service but they're so convenient to me. About a 10 minute drive. BMW Century West is even worse. Went there for my first service interval. They lost my tire caps and would not fix my A/C vents that broke. They would not replace my tire caps, so I had to buy new ones. Oddly enough went to BMW BH and they replaced the A/C vents no problem. Supposedly BMW New Century fills your tires with nitrogen if you have your car in for service. Not sure if they do. And not fan of Center or Pacific. From my experience their CAs are "dicks", so never took my car there for service.

Not getting the warm fuzzes here for any place except McKenna. Have to say that Center in Van Nuys was recommended to me and I haven't had any problems. BUT I had to try a couple of different SA's. I couldn't get them to either answer calls or return calls or e-mails. One of their SA's told me the PPK couldn't be installed on my car (obviously misinformed). Ended up going with Lina. She got me easy... just by picking up the phone when the others wouldn't.

So no issues with Center for me but I just want a second/third opinion since I've moved. I'd certainly be interested in someone who is pro-active about service on these cars. I got talked into buying a maintenance plan not realizing how little maintenance they would actually do. The deciding factor for me was that the clutch was covered. But I'm at 69.3k with no sign of slippage and only 6 months to go on the CPO / extended maintenance. I have gotten some service (oil changes, pads/rotors F/R, brake flush) but I'd like to get my $2k worth before it runs out or I'll feel foolish for having spent the money.

Not a single thing requiring repair has gone wrong with my car in the 19.3 k miles since I've been on CPO (got a few things taken care of before the factory warranty expired). So I also want to get the value out of my CPO.

At least at Center, they told me BMW won't allow them to "look for problems". But I found that if you know somethings wrong and complain specifically about it, they will do the work (how I got my oil filter housing and valve cover gaskets replaced).

For now, my plan is to go to an Indy for walnut blast intake cleaning (it's been 20k since last time) and have them go over the car looking for problem areas. Then take it in to BMW service while still under warranty to have anything the Indy finds addressed.

But that means spending $$ and getting the intake cleaning done 10k early. Why can't BMW themselves check my car and fix the problem areas instead of waiting for parts to fail?
