Clutch shudder

Iv noticed my clutch shudders when pulling away occasionally and frequently when in traffic. It shudders if I release clutch slowly or quickly but it doesn't when I stop for roundabouts etc, quick stops. There doesn't seem to be any clutch slip when driving and no clutch smell. It seems to be using it frequently in traffic causes it? Any ideas are appreciated

Probably your dual mass flywheel on the way out. Recently had identical symptoms and a new DMF sorted it.

ive got the same on an 06 330d msport and our lasses 1.9 golf, both of which suffer from the affliction of a DMF.

i know in the VW world there is a single mass flywheel kit that replaces the DMF, but can you do the same in the BM world?

also interested in the price of a DMF job, as its been 14 months with this judder (about 10k miles and i can only see it getting worse.

I have this issue also and it is the DMF, for my 330D its about £450-600 plus labour on top. Cheapest I found was the LUK one at eurocarparts ebay for £450 but think its gone up to £500 now :/

Just to add I checked with BMW and they quoted me £1400 for parts :O
