2015 Mustang (S550) Megathread
Hey folks! I wanted to create this thread in anticipation of the news embargo which is reportedly going to be lifted tomorrow (9/17) at 12p EST. We've seen past threads discussing this car (in inappropriate subs, like BMW model-centric ones) but I'd like to keep everything concentrated here.

Would not mind a new GT one tiny bit. I like the direction the Mustangs have gone. The only thing I wasn't exactly a fan of was the interior seemed a bit.... crowded.

Some videos to get started.
Autocross (NO performance pack equipped S550s in this video) Drifting (no PP in this either) First aftermarket exhaust w/ dyno (controversial results; credibility questionable) [u2b]vasnZT9kf6c#t=151[/u2b] Upcoming Shelby 'Cobra' GT350

This is the first Mustang that actually interests me. I'm looking forward to the first reviews & track tests. It'll really be interesting to see what they come up with in the $60,000 - $70,000 range. That GT350/SVT at the Nurburgring should be a beast.

This new Mustang is absolutely worth your time. The interior isn't as good as a BMW's obviously, but it's in another league to the S197's. Great materials for its price point, great driving position, excellent storage design, very functional form-over-function design (freakin' toggle switches!). I'm in love and can't wait to get my test drive in. I plan on ordering a GT premium with: -401A equipment -Nav -Recaros -6MT -Performance Pack -Reverse assist The aftermarket should be great. This will be my first N/A V8 too.

They released a bunch of info on Ford Racing parts today. Dealer installable supercharger kit from Roush, 600+hp with factory warranty is in there.

Not sure if you were in the mix when we were waiting on the E92 M3's specs. When BMW first announced mfr estimates, it was reportedly 3,704 lbs. Wait for someone third party to announce instrumented test figures. C/D will probably weigh it on their scales. We know how wildly inconsistent OEM claims have been compared to real world figures. Take the F30 for example. This old Edmund's link still shows the '08 E92 M3 curb claims. Is the E92 M3 a pig? http://www.edmunds.com/bmw/m3/2008/f...tyle=100991472

Why does everyone make it seem like BMWs dont have plastic stuff on the inside........
But the new Mustang is heavier but it is faster than the Boss 302. So I bet its going to be on par with an M4 in the twisties. For the weight, it now has IRS and its been redesigned plus all the other BS stuff to make it "safer" adds weight. Besides, it seats 4...not 2 and has a place for more than a set of golf clubs. |

>bigger brakes
>bigger tires >IRS instead of SRA >stiffer chassis >more safety equipment >finally has a good interior >but heavier >"gay" Now I remember why I still post here!

Heavier yes. But made faster than the previous model, to include the Boss 302. So a base '15 Mustang is faster than a Boss 302, around a road course.
And like I'm guessing, better than the new M4 in all performance categories or on par. |

I'd consider a swap of my Boss 302 for the GT350. Hell, I'll even look at the Track pack 2015 when it comes out. I'm definitely excited for this new model. The GT350 just sounds nasty in those videos, but we'll see what premium price comes with that growl.

Im actually saving up to get one of these bad boys in 2 years. Its fkn fast man. They even offer a supercharger with warranty and wait until the aftermarket mods hit. GG. Can easily give the new C7 and M4 a run for its a money. And lol at the guys complaining about Fords interior. Last time I check the E90 serious wasnt that great either, ask me how I know.
