For those of us with Dinan stage one already and anyone on the fence, here are the new numbers. They are coming out with a software upgrade, I suppose.
Still stage one. 364 HP 430 TQ |

It was 364/409 before, so 0 hp gain and 20-ish more ft-lbs of torque. The torque was on par with expectations, it is the whp number that is still underwhelming given those are 'at the crank'. I would gladly (really want to actually) pay the premium for numbers like that at the wheels.

Yes, to a dealer. They are just much closer then my speed shop.
Takes, as I'm told, by the dealer 1.5 hours. Seems a bit long to me... We shall see. I WILL Dyno it again, unfortunately... It will not be till next Monday... With this holiday being this Monday. So, that sucks. I'll reply after the update with the process... Say 9:00 - 10:00 this morning EDST. |

Do a real world experiment, load the BMW M Laptime on your cellphone. Do a 0-60 run with your current tune. Do it again after the update and see if it shaves any time off.

While you are waiting. Go ahead and download the BMW app. It runs through your connected drive if you have the Apps package on your car. You can do either launch control or the method I use is power brake it then let if fly. Right now in best conditions, temperature, road, tires warmed I can hit 4.4 seconds repeatly; have seen 4.3 only once. Let us know what your new tune can give you since the temps are cooler now.

I have had the app.
I have a manual... So... Gotta be touchy with the loud pedal... 4.9 stock 4.7 with Dinan (before today) Honestly... Gonna be hard to improve... Without LSD, in my opinion... So hard to dead hook 2nd gear..already. Losing time there. Anyhow... I'm WAY more interested in power from ... Say 40 to 90MPH |

Ok... Finally updated. Dealership issues.
Cannot give a judgement, take a look at the weather in Maryland and you'll see why. I'll have an updated Dyno... Hopefully by next Monday... I know, I know... It's a long wait... But, that's the way it's gotta be, you know, I got life going on. Not to mention, gotta be at the ORIOLES game tonight and tomorrow. It is a free update, completely... And should be a smooth transaction with any knowledgeable Dinan Dealer. |
