Who has the Dynamic Handling Package?
Do you regret it? Wanted to add it to my build, but after test driving an F30 with it, I really did not like the way the steering felt, so I left it off. Now I'm reading all these reviews on the web and they all say to get the M Adaptive suspension. As far as I know, the only way to get that is with the adaptive steering. So now I don't know what to do. Add it, or leave it off?
So to you guys I ask, did you get the Dynamic Handling Package? If you did, are you glad you did? If you didn't, why not? Any regrets either way? Dealer says if I wanna change the order, I gotta do it ASAP, so help me out guys. |

There are a lot of threads on this topic. I suggest you read them before you change your order. I don't know for certain, but I think most people that ordered DHP are very happy they did. Whatever you decide, best of luck! |

Yeah, I read a lot of those, but it seems most are F30 and 31 related. I know the F34s sit higher, so I'm wondering if the suspensions are different. Either way, I requested that they try to change it.

I have DHP and VSS, but really can't tell.
I spec'ed my 335ix GT with almost everything (so long, resale value...) including DHP and VSS.
After driving it for almost 9k miles, I can't tell whether I have them or I don't. They are just that underwhelming. Before buying, I drove an inventory 335ix GT around, alone, for a couple hours. I didn't really flog it, but I experienced it in a variety of driving situations. The Sport and Sport+ modes are better than Comfort, but not a huge difference. It's not like the M button in the older M3. To be honest, I think both the suspension and the steering are disappointing. The suspension seems to rock diagonally from corner to corner in a weird, unbalanced way, maybe because of the longer wheelbase. And the steering feels dead and non-communicative, like a Mercedes or Ford, not like older BMWs. Alas, maybe I'm just spoiled by the steering and suspension of my old NSX, which had the best steering ever. Ever my '05 Audi S4 had somewhat disappointing steering in comparison. Of course, my GT is about as fast in a straight line, so you win some and lose some. In summary, I'm not sure I would be able to tell if I didn't have it. Or maybe I just actually don't like it, and I would have been happier without it. Sigh Good luck finding one of each to compare. Dealerships have usually one or GTs if any. Any they are seldom fully spec'ed. If there is a single dealership in the US with a DHP and non-DHP and a VSS and non-VSS car available to compare, I'd be really surprised. |

I have it. I wouldn't get it again - can't tell a huge difference, and it's just another distraction having a switch to adjust suspension settings. I'll just trust the engineers to set the optimal suspension next time - not like the car goes to the track or anything.

FYI, for those looking to tighten up the adaptive suspension (aka dynamic handling), Dinan Shockware is now available for the F34. I've been driving primarily in suspension-only Sport mode for the past couple of days to see if I could live with a somewhat firmer Comfort mode, and it's looking very likely that this will be someone's Christmas present.

I did not get it - but I have just about every other option. This car is my comfort car - long drives to visit the in-laws, grocery shopping etc. It replaced a stripped down previously loved (or maybe previously not really loved) E91 touring.
The standard suspension is comfortable going over speed bumps at the mall and other idiotic inventions. If I did not have my other cars, I would have held out for the dynamic handling package. |

We have a 2015 msport 335 with 19 wheels and DHP package and love it. Very similar to an E90 msport I had and that car was at least 2 inches lower than the GT.
The car also came with the latest conti contact sport 5 SSR. They handle very nice and are very comfortable as well. Did some nice mountain switchbacks the other day and she carried her weight very flat and controlled.

Mike L what did you end up going with?
I wanted DHP but compromised on a car that was in stock with everything else. I find the ride a tad harsh on our crappy SF roads with the 19s. |

I ended up going with the DHP and 18's. No idea how it rides or drives though. Still hasn't gotten here, 2 months later.

I love the M Adaptive Suspension, but wish I could have opted out of the VSS. I don't like how it makes the steering feel lighter; I feel like the F30/F32s that I've driven without it have a steering feel that is much more like my old E92. But in the US, in order to get one, you have to get the other.

Can chassis and Drive train be altered "independently"?.
I am looking at the M sport 335D with adaptive.
