Does it dim the lights when you turn it on?? If not, then it's not powerful enough...
Just kidding.. There are so many other factors involved with how a game runs, not just the graphics card. It depends on your CPU speed, bus speed, the amount and type of RAM, hard drive speed, cd/dvd speed. Putting the latest nVidia or ATI card in a PII is not really going to help. Game speed also hinges on the resolution and the rendering quality you have it set at. Post the rest of the specs and what resolution you're trying to run the game at.

The specs seem alright. But it's a laptop, and they are of course slower than their desktop counterparts. Try lowering the settings. If it really worries you, then take it back.

mobile ati x700 is really not that powerful even though it uses pci-e. and, as jcoo085 mentioned, laptops use totally different parts to accommodate in a smaller form factor, thus, performance decrease in most cases. acer doesn't pride itself in great performance, rather in reliability and international support.

BLLLAAAAH!! i hate laptops! your gaming experience will never be completely satisfying on a laptop, you need desktop power for that.

Power settings? Make sure the processor and graphic core is not throttling down, especially when you are on batteries. Laptops do throttle down to save power consumption and heat emission. Under Control Panal and go to Power Options, choose "Always ON" and then try again. Also try updating the display driver at www.ati.com
