Stock 420HP BMW M3 e92 vs 360hp Toyota Supra

I'm certainly not a Toyota fan by any means, but damn... this is unbelievable!

The Supra is probably the most iconic import car to ever hit the U.S.

Potential is literally endless. (In a straight line anyways).

If you happen to run into a stock Supra that has low mileage...yeah, if there's such a thing as a stock Supra, right? Anyways...you would be amazed at how much they go for!

It would be more unique to leave it stock if you were able to find one. Keep it in pristine condition and cherish it knowing there aren't many like it! How ironic.

Interesting to hear that the supra was only 360hp. I wonder how much it weighed.

i remember the stock supra that was garaged ever since the owner bought it. had something like 60miles on it? Went for $50,000+ on ebay!

i would trade my car in a heart beat for a decent condition Supra. True they are 2 different cars, but i've loved them since i was a kid. 2jz-gte =

You gotta remember that the Supra came out more than 10 years ago..back then it was a lot of power! Back then the average family car had mid 100 HP..while now the new Accords and Camry's are in the upper 200 range.

Yeah, man. My friend found a near stock one. He traded his Evo for it and added a large sum of money.

I think the Supra, along with the Skyline and RX7 are the top 3 kings of imports.

Amazing. Does the new M3 beat anything? As far as the straight-line comment goes, if you didnt know the supra(albeit modded) held the record at nurnburg ring until I think the CSL beat it.

RX 7

Honorable mention to

Supra
Skyline

cool vid...at first i thought for sure that driver skill had a huge influence on the outcome of this race. then i realized that the Supra is not stock. i guess the fact that this was a driver's race makes sense considering the Supra is down about 50-60whp, but is approx. 200-lbs. lighter.

unfortunately the Supra's "only good in a straight line" misconception is just as popular as its amazing modification/tuning potential. in fact that's exactly how the misconception was spawned - when owners (and potential owners) realized this crazy potential, a majority of them were naturally drawn to the drag strip. just b/c most Supras are known for drag racing doesn't mean they are only good for straight line racing. being that they handle every bit as well (and are as nimble) as an e46 M3, i'd be willing to bet one would outhandle the new M3 (granted the M3 would make up lost ground on the straights stock for stock).

i'd say 3450-lbs., but because the car has been modified, i can't stand by that number 100%.

i was not aware of this "fun fact." could you link us to the documentation? i'd imagine the CSL outright smashed the Supra's record...

968 Turbo RS's is 10 times the car the Supra is,

Stock Supra is not very impressive when you compare it to other cars. They are impressive for what you can do to them, not how they came stock. Stock supra is 3500 pounds and 276 HP, hardly a supercar.

Comparing stock cars I'll stand by what I smoke

Supra = 3450-lbs, 320HP (the Supra in the video is a Euro spec Supra, not a JDM Supra). and while the 968 RS is hardly 10 times the car the Supra was, it was lighter and nimbler stock for stock, and so i'm sure it performed better at the track. with regard to the e30 M3 and the FD3S RX-7, while both lacked power, they both more than made up for it in weight (or lack thereof), and in terms of pure handling capability, i'd say both were better than the Supra.

despite the Supra and the Skyline being amazing performers, they weren't the absolute best performers at the time...they were just the most popular and desirable. i mean look at the POS Mazda Miata - it outhandled both the e30 M3 and the RX-7, so one could argue that the Miata was the car of the 90's with respect to pure handling.

...so i guess we can agree on some things and disagree on others...but i'll smoke with you anytime

Stock Supra Turbo is 320hp and the non-turbo is 240hp.
