Talking Boy meets Car.

Hey everyone,

Im sure some of you have seen me post before on the forum. I got a new car a few months back and Iam relieved to be back in a BMW 335i.

Back at the end of July i was side swiped by a toyota corolla. Her car flipped

Mine slid about 15 ft with full side air bags deployment.

I was completely fine, not a scratch on me, No whip lash, No broken bones. I was just left with the emotional pain of loosing my one and only. Bernadine(my Poor BMW) Had sacrifice her life in order to protect me and my passenger who also walked out with only minor neck injuries (whip lash).

She got some nice drugs, and a few days off and physical therapy, I got this.

And soon I learned that i could love again.

Thats it, A true love story on how a Boy meets a Car, and the Car teaches him to love again.

this is my intro to the Car, and Alpine white 2008 BMW 335i 29,000 miles on it.

I haven't named her just yet but i have a few names pending.

UPGRADES:
stage2 AFE cold air Intake.
ETS Charge pipe
Tial BOV
Custom Catless DP
Full HKS exhaust.
KWV2 suspension.
VS-XX rims.

Glad you guys are ok, man that looks like a hard hit to the drivers door, the bimmer took it well.
Good move buying a low miles N54. Other then a 335is its a proper way to enjoy these cars.
Lots of mod potential but issues will be kept to a minumum due to the low miles.

Wow, that was a close call. Wide straight road with no traffic - what caused the other driver to "flip out"?

That is one SWEET ride you got on the rebound tho!

My experience was the opposite. Got mine with about 33k on the clock. Lots of issues under warranty. Lots more issues out of warranty. But once all the usual suspects had been addressed (we all know the list), she's been rock solid.

that's a nasty hit, nice to see everyone was ok. Just like another person mentioned, I chose the BMW because of the safety it had, it being rock solid. Your new car is even more beautiful though

That's just bad luck then, a bmw with 33k miles should be a solid car.
Hopefully it holds up for you down the road.

YEAH ABOUT THAT....Before I explain the story I should explain some California LAW.

Section VC 21460(d)(1). You may cross a double yellow line to turn into or out of a private driveway. For example, if you live on a street that is divided by a double yellow line, you may turn into your driveway across the double lines...

So Im heading to my buddies new place, I parallel park on the street (not really knowing which place was my buddys) as I am giving him a call he pops out about 100 ft down the street, yelling to not park on the street but in his drive way. FINE.

I flip a U, and travel down the street I make it about 95 ft down the street my buddy points to his driveway and yells "this one!"

so follow me on this, Im driving down this street towards the camera.

traveling at maybe 10 MPH, ARMED with my trusty blinker I go to make a LEFT per Section VC 21460(d)(1)

My drivers wheel gets over the double yellow. The car gets around 20 degrees of angle...

EEERRRR!!!

It was too late, already outta my hands..

And when the dust settled..

She was traveling the same direction as me, coming up from behind. She must have been traveling 45 MPH maybe more, before trying to apply any break what so ever.

My guess, she wasn't paying any attention, not noticing i was slowing down continues at her pace. Once she realizes 10MHP - 45MHP =

she hits the breaks and tries and tries bail. Unfortunately for her she bails the wrong direction (the direction I am turning) and well you read my original post + a few broken fingers and a friend with a busted up face... They went straight to the hospital I didn't get a change to see if they where drunk or what.

Insurance never mentioned anything either.
