That's a really unfair characterization. Until the m2 comes out (which is another tarted up version of an econobox) this is the fastest car in its class. It also can send 100% of the torque to the rear wheels and ought to be quite the drift machine - which is not something I thought I'd ever say about an Audi

That's one good looking vehicle. Audi is leading the way in my opinion in terms of design at the moment. Any plans on this coming to Canada, or still too early?

Of course RS is one step up on S. You are thinking about S-line trim on some models that is cosmetic. |

One meeeeelion times better than the sedan. I'm sure it's DSG only though, so I'll just go back to ignoring it. Hopefully VW offers the R400 with a full set of pedals.

I think the distinction of an S is typically more in line with what a high trim level non M level BMW (with a comparable M-Sport configuration) is. For example, an S3 is in line with what an M235i is, much in the same way as an S4 and an S6 is more in line, horsepower wise, with a 335i and 550i respectively. RS competes along with the likes of M and AMG. As for the RS3, I think it looks fantastic and has the stats to back it up. What Audi does so well is make a design that isn't so in your face (looking at you Lexus). They took a page out of their sister company Porsche. It's aggressive enough to be pleasant to the eyes but not so over the top so that, just like Porsche, the design ages incredibly well. This is a car where 10 years from now it'll still draw your eyes to it in a positive way. Reminds me of the older Mercedes and BMW's of the late 90's early 2000's. I still turn my head whenever I see a E39 540i or M5. Last edited by fecurtis; 12-11-2014 at 11:55 PM.. |

This looks aggressive enough. To me at least, I prefer the toned down appearance in a car. The proverbial sleeper. The sedan looks like a squashed loaf of bread. I'm glad I'm not the only one not engrossed with it. |

It's 100% crossover and no sport. Not very standard for an RS, hopefully some revisions are made or some other bumper options are available. Painting the rails and a different set of wheels would help tremendously, but there is still so much more work that is required here. |

As others have stated, lacks a bit of aggressiveness for an RS line. If people didn't know any better, which is like 90% of people, they'll just think its another audi wagon. Nothing screams sports car. Even the typical RS grill looks understated here.
Now just keep this thing under $37k and we might have something....

Point is there is nothing special at all about these "performance" models built on entry-level platforms. M235i/M2, CLA45, S3/RS3...they're all the same $29K cars they start out as and it makes no sense to try and make them perform. They don't even look good. Their target demographic are those who were going to buy a Subaru WRX but realized they can spend a little more per month. But nothing against Audis. In fact, there's one in the driveway right now. Pardon the quick shity iPhone shot...if you haven't heard, it's mildly drizzling in the SF Bay Area. Last edited by FC4; 12-12-2014 at 03:46 PM.. |

Ehh, looks like every other audi. Never understood why people love the interior and exterior of these cars. R8 is the only audio I would ever consider

Ehhh, if that's a V8 R8 and not a V10, then the RS3 will probably beat that too.
