This is by far my favorite sim racing game. I've been playing hours a day and just can't get enough of it. I used to be a huge proponent of the GT series and I dumped my triple screen GT6 setup because Asseto Corsa is just so much better. Definitely a must buy for sim racers.

best realism physics is iRacing. i think project cars has nicest graphics and is more of a complete game vs AC. AC is still a working progress and has better sound....all good games with lots of tuning to be done to the cars and controllers to make them feel right.

Iracing does not have the best physics. It's actually pretty average. It has a huge library of laser-scanned tracks and a fantastic organized race community, but the physics are just okay. AC's cars drive the closest to real life. I use sims as a driving tool to improve skills/technique in real life and have spent a lot of time with almost all modern sims. AC blows them all away.

idk about that as i feel it all how you tune it (car/controller). i play/like both AC and project cars, but lately I've been playing pcars more since it looks better. I also like how the car react to bumps in pcars

AC and iRacing are definitely different but I wouldn't say either is better than the other. If you want the best you have to get rFactor 2. I also have all modern sims as well as every popular sim in the past 10 years. AC's physics are good but nothing mind blowing. The tracks however are very good, unfortunately there just arent very many.

AC is better when we are strictly talking about realistic physics and driving dynamics. I'm not talking about graphics and features. If you took a vet sim racer in each game and one day out them on a real race track for the first time, I'm willing to bet the one who played AC will be the best driver in real life.

RFactor2 is really good too, but the cars, tracks, and very dated look keeps me away. I still think AC has a better tire model and FFB. Also AC is the only sim where I can come back from the real track and drive even better in the sim because all of my muscle memory translates and the cars react precisely as expected. It's uncanny.

ACs FFB is very good, but there's a reason why every thread about ACs FFB has a comparison to rFactor 2. The new rFactor 2 tire model that came out last month is out-freaking-rageous, no sim on the market is even in the same decade on tires at this point. Not sure how long it's been since you put some time into rF2 but over the past 6 months there have been some massive changes and it is now pretty widely regarded as benchmark in the sim racing community.

The problem with RaceRoom is the tracks are horribly rendered. Laguna Seca and Sonoma are nowhere near to proper scale. I heard good things about Raceroom and quickly paid for the local Bay Area tracks and was sorely disappointed in how fake they were. If you use those tracks to practice for the real thing, you'll be in for a big surprise when you get there.

Not sure how you can say Assetto Corsa is not fun. I can lap tracks solo for hours and have almost as much fun as if I'm at the real track. In fact, I have a 125cc Rotax Max go-kart that I bought last year to help with my driving, but I find AC far more effective and enjoyable than taking my kart out to the track.

I probably have close to 2000 laps under my belt at Infineon over the last 15 years so I'm quite comfortable. RaceRoom's rendering isn't great but I wouldn't say it's particularly bad either. Perhaps older renditions were worse...I've only been playing for about a month. Regardless, no driving sim will prepare you for the real thing no matter how good, so I don't treat it as such.

Yea sims aren't a replacement for real seat time, but if you take what you learn at the track and apply it to sims and vice versa, it is an extremely powerful learning/practice tool. Real track time gets expensive time and money-wise when you are trying to get a lot of seat time in.. I do about 12-15 events a year and it's just not enough by itself. But with hours and hours of sim time in between those events, you can improve at a far faster pace.

So I installed the update last night and played for about an hour. Cars drive fine, but you still can't feel the road through the wheel. It makes the tracks feel as if they are all perfectly flat and you really have to guess what the car is doing. I set FFB smoothing to 0 and played around with the multiplier and all it did was make the wheel harder/softer to turn. Just not really feeling it.

When have you last played Assetto Corsa? Do you have the dream pack? The Nordschleife is utterly fantastic and running that track alone has been the best driving sim experience for me. Whenever I watch Nurburgring videos on Youtube, I feel like I know every inch of that track. Like I've experienced driving thousands of laps on it in real life.

you guys can google best settings for that game and your controller to have better starting point then fine tune from there.

What racing seat is this? I've been looking at Rseat, Obutto, and Playseat. What hardware are you mounting everything on? I see it's got a Sparco racing seat.

Sorry for the late reply. For some reason I never got a notification. It's the Fanatec Rennsport V2 cockpit. I believe I paid around $2000 for the whole cockpit including the seat and triple screen mounting hardware. Expensive, but I've been really happy with the whole setup.

I had a Playseat before and didn't care for it. I liked the Fanatec CSL Seat (http://www.fanatec.com/us-en/play-an...l-seat-us.html) much better because of the lower seating position relative to the pedals and it felt more stable once you sat in it. However it's worth noting that the forward angle of the upper backrest does cause more fatigue in longer play sessions.

I almost bought the Obutto too and it looks pretty nice, but in the end went with Fanatec because I knew it would be sitting in a fairly prominent area of my house and it just looks nicer overall.
