new bmw owner

I bought a 2007 335i 4dr MT, first bmw. Its my daily driver, has 89k. PO gave me service records of spark plugs, coil packs, battery, and also a wastegate problem fixed, all not too long ago. There might be some other stuff, can't remember. Is there anything I should do as preventative maintenance? I don't plan on modding unless I am making it more reliable, e.g. adding an oil cooler or something.

I'd swap all fluids to give you known starting point with intervals.

Pics?

It also had the turbos replaced, and it had a recall for the battery cable. I am worried about the whole PS pulley and subframe problem. I will probably try to take a look at that tomorrow. I might just replace the motor mounts to be safe.

Welcome to the forums, shine90! I would also recommend changing all the fluids (i.e., transmission, oil, brake) as part of your preventative maintenance. Did you get a pre-purchase inspection on the car before finalizing the purchase?

If your MT 335i has the sports package then you should have a stock oil cooler installed.

You would need to physically check for the oil cooler on your car to know with 100% certainty. I have posted an image below that shows how you can check for the cooler. You can look in the passengers front wheel well. If you see the little grills there, this means you have the oil cooler, if not, then you don't have it.

Forgot to say if you have over 60k I'd replace belt, belt tensioner and idler pulleys.

Can changing the belt prevent it from breaking if the pulley hits the subframe?
