Anyone hardwired a 9500ix?

My cable after 4 years finally started to come apart from the phone jack connector and no longer can send power radar.

Was wondering if anyone out there has hardwired theirs and how you integrated the silence button... Doesn't seem the hardwire cables address that.

Also. Did you mount up by rearview mirror or down by dash.

Mine is hard wired to the fuse box. I installed it over the rear view mirror, on the passenger side. I don't have the silence button though...

I have a spare wire if you'd like one? Just pay me shipping and I'll toss it in a box and send it to you.

Mine is wired into the rear view mirror. There's threads about it here. It was super easy and all you need is a $20 chord

My detector is mounted by the mirror, but then I ran a wire down the A pillar and grabbed power from the cig lighter. I then wired a momentary switch (a couple $ at radio shack) for the mute button and mounted it in the ash tray.

I used a piggy back fuse kit and tapped into the homelink at the fuseblock. This way I could mount the smart cord mute button near the shifter. Its tight against dash, just ahead of the ashtray, no wires are visable and no holes drilled as well. Mounted it with 3m double sided trim tape. Made sense to me since my hand is always this area. Routed up the divers A pillar and pushed the cord under the head liner.

The detector is mounted above the rear view mirror, it's a little tight with a bell rx65. I chose this position to keep the sun off it so it stays cool. Read direct sun can cause issues with overheating and staying in calibration. Not sure if there is enough overhead glass to get the required GPS signal for the ix

I appreciate everyones responses. Sounds like tapping into fuse box is the way to. Of course ill want to have it on all the time but biggest thing will be figuring out the silence button integration. I might be pm'ing a few of you.

Thanks and happy hump daAay

As others have said the best way is fuse tap. I mounted my mute switch and led on the left side of the headlight switch. It took some work with a dremel on the switch but they are cheap if you ever want to go back to stock. I will post up some pics tonight and what fuse worked for me that turns on with the ignition.
