AE exhaust on E90 335i
I just installed my AE exhaust and everything went smooth. Except for this one clamp that will not go back in place. I assume the new exhaust piping is larger in diameter and now the bolt for this clamp is too short?
Can someone with an AE exhaust confirm if this clamp will fit or needs new longer bolt? The clamp towards the bottom of the pic. |

Guessing your talking about the clamp that holds to two pipes? Does the bolt not catch the threads cause it looks like it's fine on yours?
Have the same exhaust that clamp works just fine.

It should have come with a longer bolt. The stock bolt is too short for the now larger diameter pipes.

The clamp that holds the two pipes up, that is not a pic of my exhaust. I will have to try again and see if it will go back on. Then again, I installed this by myself so maybe with 2 people it will work.

I have a Vangaurd V2 exhaust and ran into the same problem.
Take the current OEM bolt to any hardware store and get the same thread pitch/diameter bolt that is longer. I would guess 90% of hardware stores will have it. EASY fix!!! |

Do you guys here some kind of rattling when you first start the car when the engine is cold? It sounds like the heat shield under the body is rattling from the exhaust rumble? |

But if a heat shield is loose it's pretty easy to replicate, just start hitting the shields and see which one makes noise. |
