I'm 17, in highschool and own a 2010 335xi. Call me spoiled whatever it's all cool I'm used to it. I am very responsible with my car and don't street race and what not on public streets(I love my car to much to put it into any danger like that).Anyways, here in Colorado we have a drag strip called Bandimere and they hold high school drags in May. Awards go to best looking car, and quickest, plus one more I can't remember. The only rules are no transmission brakes, and street tires, and has to run higher than 12.0 1/4 miles. I'm looking to enter, and was wondering if an other schoolers in Colorado would be entering too? My mod list is
Vrsf Catless downpipes Vrsf ChargePipe with Tial bov Jb4 G5 ISO Bms dci And soon to be on my car, methanol injection from bms. What times should I be looking at? And should I be worried about the 12.0 second limit? I'll have access to e85 and most likley race fuel if I decide to pay 9$ a gallon or whatever it is. If so should I run e85/91 or just go race fuel? Never ran race fuel so would I have to come on an empty tank?

+1. You will be very close to that limit. But I don't think you'll quite break 11's. With E85 or race gas, you would be most likely, especially considering XI is easier to get a consistent hard launch with.

At 5,814 feet you are lucky to hit 13.0 so don’t worry about that part,
my guess with Xi and good weather around 13.2-13.3 even with meth and race gas but really 13.5 for being a drag noob

sigh... dont really get the obsession with 1/4 miles on this forum. anyone with big enough wallet and a lead foot can go fast in a straight line (not saying real drag racing is easy, but it is much easier to cover up lack of driving skills with faster car in this type of racing).
add a few corners to it is when things get interesting. plus, kids might actually learn a few things about how to really handle a car, instead of just doing ricer flybys and "pulls" on the highways...

On topic: No, you shouldn't be worried about breaking the 12 second 1/4 mile rule, especially at that elevation. |

First off . Posting a thread with that title and that post will immediately get you hammered . Why ? Well you obviously could have asked the question without stating your age .
But you took it upon yourself to tell a forum full of people that your 17 and your going to drag race . While also trying to convince everyone your a responsible driver because even you know your age will immediately be stereotyped . Not only that but you say your called spoiled all the time, by I am guessing random people . It's almost as if your looking for attention lol. |

IMO, you should mod the eff out of the car between now and then and try to break into the 10s. Who cares if the limit is 12s. If you only run once, and it's a 10.xx, they're not going to stop you. haha Then you will be fastest car.

Your car may be able to break the 12s limit but you won't.
Just be careful out there and have fun. Post up a video or two when you are done and show us how it went.

Well i was your age not long ago actually only 7 years ago lol. In all seriousness if i knew what i know now i wouldnt make stupid mistakes . Just be careful out there with these machines and watch yourself, Lookout for your personal health and others when you drive these cars because its all fun and games till someone gets hurt . I know your parents probably shove that down your throat but its so true. Enjoy your ride, And yes you are very liable to break 12's with your setup.
