Jb4 Tune At 100,00 Mile
Hey guys,
Im going in on Monday to change my brake pads, spark plugs and oil and thinking about getting a JB4 added at the same time. Im bone stock and at 101,000 miles on my 07 rwd 335i. I havent had any major issues except had to change replace the water pump last summer and injectors. Any one tune this late in the game? or should I think twice about it. I have been reading up for awhile and the more I read the more im not as worried about the mileage on this car burt any further insight will help. Cheers |

Like any other mods, it'll put more stress on a motor that's already had a life. Me personally, I would put the JB4 on the car just as long as it's in good working order and isn't throwing any codes.

The engine itself is strong, I wouldn't be worried it.
It will bring out any weak points that were already on their way out. In essence it just forces you to maintain your car. Tune on! |

It'll bring out common problems like misfires (plugs, coils, and in some cases fuel injectors)

I am battling the same question, I have an 07 with 100k+ miles on my 335i. I have owned it for 4yrs now and I do all regular maintenance, and over the years have repaced valve cover gasket, thermostat and water pump. I want to put in a JB, but my main worry is the turbos seeing how when I pull my car fax it doesn't look like they were ever replaced. What are your thoughts?

I just put Vargas Stage 2+'s on a car with over 100k. Have done over 100 WOT logs in the past 1800 miles going through the tuning process. Blackstone lab report still solid. You'll likely have to replace plugs/coils if you were never tuned but after that... good to go.

The motor is strong i wouldnt worry.
Just make sure you put aside money for maintaince. Just like others have said the jb4 will bring out the weak points like plugs, coils. |

Driven over 165,000 miles and been tuned since 35,000. Most of the time FBO but modest 14-15 psi. My repairs are still very typical for the car regardless if tuned or not... sparks, coils, water pump/tstat, hpfp (when under warranty), etc.
Engine is solid. Helps if you can DIY with maintenance. |

Check Valve cover gasket and oil filter housing gasket for oil leaks they are probably leaking if you havent replaced them yet
