My take is if both teams used the same balls how is it cheating
That said Blount ran for 140+ yards and 3 touchdowns and I am pretty sure deflated balls didn't help him. Go Pats!!!

That said, I doubt it would have significantly effected the outcome of the game and the Pats would still have won. It is just silly that this happened.

Hi, I now live in Indy and I'm a Colts fan. I also grew up in NYC, 23 years, so I also saw our NY Giants take care of the Patriots on quite a few occasions .
The Patriots cheated. They cheated and that's a fact (info available today). Another fact is that had they NOT cheated, they still would have kicked our ass. But they felt the need to cheat (again), however insignificant it might have been it does not change what they did. They should be punished as a repeat offender, not just a fine and a slap on the wrist by taking away a draft pick that is not going to affect them in the least. It's a pity that such a team feels the need to repeatedly do things like this... it only taints whatever the history books have to say about them.

I don't think it affected the game a bit. *But* it was a stupid thing to do nonetheless. Why bring that grief upon yourself when you know all things being equal the Pats were most likely going to win anyway? Now the Ravens are claiming the balls could have been under-inflated for that matchup as well. The Pats' victory is tarnished and if they win the Super Bowl, that will be tarnished as well.
That said, the difference in the feel of the football must have been really insignificant if none of the officials on the field noticed it during the game. They handle footballs all the time and should know what one should feel like when it's not inflated properly. Also, the questionable footballs were removed at halftime. The game really got out of hand for the Colts in the second half, so again, the benefit of the under-inflation was minimal at best.

i dont think it would have made a difference. pats are just always known to be cheaters so people are coming up with more reasons to dislike them. i hope the pats win it all this year.

Been talking about this been co-workers. Bottom line is that I doubt the outcome of the game would have been that much different. Then again, we will never know what "could have happened."
The incident makes me wonder if this is a case of "haters gonna hate" or if the Patriots would use every tactic to win. I mean first the tuck rule, then the spygate, and now this...who knows, really... |

Think Bill Bella-cheater has any footage of that? Or perhaps he was too busy cutting half of the sleeves of his hoody in preparation for the game?

Sounds like Pats used a backup set of properly inflated balls in second half based on the article on WEEI website. Be interesting to hear more.
