2008 335xi vs 2008 135i

Moving from an FBO e92 6mt... I've done all the research now I want some subjective opinions... They're the same price

E92 335xi - 2008
6AT
Sport
Navi
45k miles
Black

135i - 2008
6AT
Blue (preferred color)
35k miles
Non sport
No navigation

In going to be daily driving it, both will be FBO and like the idea of xdrive traction but the system itself is not great... I would put an lsd into the 135i....

I can't make the decision, need help from strangers lol

the break point is build month 03/2007... most 2007 model cars were built in 2006. I doubt that model year 2007 cars were built in Jan/Feb of 2007 and then sold as that model year. I could be wrong...

There is no comparison between Alpina and not. If you are getting an auto, get one that can be flashed. The only bad thing about the xi is that it will need a suspension upgrade asap

I would say the 335xi. More comfort and a higher grade interior. The 1er is great but I wouldn't get one without the DCT.

Damn it, I dunno what to do. Love the color of the 135, lower mileage and rwd but it would be nice to have traction with xdrive... Plus the nicer interior.

One issue is that my credit union won't cover xdrive cars for warranty and I really don't want s higher mileage n54 w/o warranty

Based on your particular options, I'd opt for the xi. having sport seats and steering wheel are pretty critical components to the interior. 10k isn't a huge difference in mileage considering the age of the cars (~1500mi/year difference).

Both cars should be out of factory warranty, you can either put aside funds for car repair or invest in 3rd party warranty.

If that doesn't sway your decision, the lines of an e92 trumps the 1 series - reminds of of this every time I see one on the road.

I actually like the 1er styling. Plus it comes with an oil cooler and decent suspension/rims. I would buy sport seats to put in it for sure. Ughhhh. The color is great too.

Have an 08xi AT and they are very enjoyable after upgrading suspension. Having no traction worries is pretty awesome! Good luck!

depends on what you want to do. if you want a highway monster, a rwd 135i or 335i would be better. if you want a better all around car that can be daily driven in nearly all weather conditions with traction, the 335xi would be better.

that being said, a high power rwd car that spins into 3rd gear on the highway gets old after a while, and many wish they had got the xi. "spinnin' aint winnin' "

+1 on that. I have an 09 e92 XI AT, sport, comfort, nav etc. but it came with an oil cooler. I think you had to get the 18" staggered wheels and summer tires to get the OC OEM.

BTW the results coming out on the XI with RB's and TFT intakes are crazy, have me rethinking everything I was planning for this car.

Yeah, I'm in that boat now but my lsd helped a lot. That being said. I love the 1er... Plus my warranty company won't cover xdrive cars + the power loss (and added weight) through awd isn't great.. I'm leaning toward the 135

I also probably wouldn't upgrade the diffs in the xdrive and the open system isn't very good imo

What are FBO xdrives trapping in the 1/4? Vs FBO rwd? The drivetrain loss & weight is what annoys me. Plus the crummy suspension. (it's like 4,000lbs)

If it was a torque biasing system and had legit differentials I would be more inclined. The warranty is another big thing for me. Route 66 Only covers rwd cars

and you are. My 04/07 begs to differ, what with it's oil cooler and alpina flash and all.

I haven't driven the 1 much but I like the E90XI as a daily. It is fast and good in all wether up here. If we didn't get snow I would consider the 1 but the backseat is useless also as far as i can tell even small kids wouldn't fit behind my seat and the trunk isn't very big either limits the utility imo.

How does the power compare? I mean I know the drivetrain loss will be about 5-10% more with XI.

An E85 FBO XI = 400whp & an FBO 135i = 435whp (but also 500 lbs. less right?)

Can't really compare mine. XI is JB4G5 and dp. The 135 is mostly stock now for a rebuilt title inspection. Like I said if you don't need a backseat or all weather drivability then I would go with a 1.
